I have several of the previous version of this and I also own this style. I prefer the previous version, because they're more worn in, but this is just as good. I used to live in an apartment with the windows at the perfect height to beam in all of the streetlights and no curtain was good enough to stop the light from beaming on my face all night. I bought dozens of different eye masks from dollar stores and cutesy stores and then decided to spend significantly more on this Eagle Creek mask. Wish I had bought this first, would've saved money! Simply: this works. I've traveled around Korea, Japan, all over the US, hostels and backpacking, and soon headed to Belize. I no longer live in that horrible apartment, so don't use this every night anymore, but I keep one in my purse in case I'm able to grab a nap somewhere and always, always, always take one when I'm traveling. I think my brain has connected these things with "sleep time" so once one goes on, it takes me seconds to fall asleep. This product works. It's durable, quality, I buy them to give to people as gifts. I will buy more.

Nice product. It's not super soft (but soft enough) but my favorite part of this eye mask is that the material does a great job staying cooler against your eyes unlike other fabrics. It's also very light on your head and face. It doesn't completely block out the light (some light gets in by the nose area) but you'll notice it only if you open your eyes. Keep your eyes closed and the world around you doesn't exist. The ear plug pouch is quite handy! My only quibble is that the strap tends to loosen easily, thereby requiring frequent re-cinching so that it doesn't slide around too much.
