Comments about KIALOA Pupu Stand Up Paddle:
Im not sure I would recommend this....maybe. I am new to paddling. So- obviously still learning. But when I was loading my SUP, I knocked over the paddle and a huge chunk got knocked out of the handle. Thankful I found the chunk and super glued it back on but it is still bothers me. The surface of the shaft and handle are very slick... my hands get sweaty and it's a lil uncomfortable. Considering trying to find some sort of grip to wrap on it. Also, I am 5'10... got an 80"... kinda wish I had gotten an 83".
The paddle is pretty... just wish it was more durable... and the grip wasn't slick. Thankfully REI has 100% satisfaction guarantee.. I may return it if I find something I like better.

Comments about KIALOA Pupu Stand Up Paddle:
This is a great paddle and as one of the cheaper options at REI, I think it's the best. I also have the QuickBlade equivalent to this and hands down would recommend the Pupu to anyone looking to start out in the sport. The handle is great and fits nicely into my palm and the blade is solid and doesn't feel too flexible in the water when I dig deep. Overall, this seems like a great choice. Plus, the green blade really pops and is a nice alternative to the simply black construction of other paddles.
