I bought the large size. The packaging claims 5' 5" to 6' and 155 to 185 pounds. I am six foot and 180 pounds. I could not pull them further up than about eight inches past my knees (leaving a foot or more to get them to my hips, much less my waist.) I had to return them. I cannot imagine they would fit any woman who is six foot tall even if she were only 155 pounds - I have pretty slender legs especially from mid-thigh down.

Bottom-line: these are gorgeous and feel wonderful but don't get them if unless you are on the lower end of the sizing guidelines. I will likely be contacting REI and SmartWool to ask them to correct the sizing (or make bigger ones!)

I completely agree with the first reviewer. I am 5'8", 145 lbs., so well within the size large guidelines. While I could get them on and pulled all the way up, they were not as comfortable as they should have been--over the course of the day they slid down. Also, a seam parted on the first (and only) wearing, which is not the quality I've come to expect from Smartwool. I had to return them. It was really disappointing, since they are otherwise lovely--warm and with a nice design.

I LOVE Smartwool products and have a black pair of tights that I adore, so I was excited to see the offering of a purple pair. What a letdown! I never even got them on my legs to try on because I punched a hole in them while putting them on...really?!
Not too happy with Smartwool today - may want to try a mill in America to knit those badboys!! Should have listened to previous reviewers!

I ordered a total of 7 solid black tights, and was able to keep 2. The first time I ordered 2 medium,they both stopped at mid thigh, so I returned and exchanged for 3 large, only one of the large fit, so I returned two and exchanged for another two large, and only one of them fit. Smartwool needs to change their manufacturer;of some of the tights I received some had holes, the label was in different spots and anyone over 5 feet 8 is really lucky if they can wear these tights. The pair of tights that fit are great, and I'm keeping them, but Smartwool needs to stick with what works for them, socks and baselayers, definitely their design of these tights is beyond their realm. Thumbs down Smartwool.

I was very excited to try these, so the morning after I bought them, I "tried" to wear them. The crotch came up about 1/2 way up my thigh. I am 5'6" and, there is NO WAY a 6' person could wear these.

So utterly disappointed, as I am a HUGE Smartwool Fan.

I weigh 120 and I am 5'5" and the small got up to about my knees. They are supposed to be for up to 130 lbs and 6 ft (might be wrong about that). I am going to return, not sure what size would fit me. I run so maybe my calves are large, but you would have to be a stick to wear these. I should have listened to the reviews.

Same as previous reviews - I am 5'11", 165lbs - well within the sizing guidelines. No way to get the crotch more than about 5" above my knees. I am really disappointed, because I love my smartwool socks, and had been looking forward to wearing these really cute tights.

How the heck did they get the tights on the models for the pictures?

These are not for average size people. I am a small according to the package sizing chart. I order up to a medium for extra room. These would not go any higher than my thighs. Width is fine. The length is way off. I returned these and bought a large. Again, I couldn't get them past my thighs. For [$] these should fit. Will be returning these as well.

I am well within the size recommendations of this product, in fact I purchased a size up since I like my tights a bit more loose. I could not get the tights to come past my thighs. The width is fine, it's the length, the crotch of these tights falls about 6-10 inches short. Really disappointing, especially given the [$] price tag.
