I get to dress casually at my business. I have taken to wearing t-shirts and travel vests. The standard polypropylene base layer shirts I have tried are not warm enough in winter, and really do look like underwear. The texture and weight of this shirt not only are warm without being clammy, but look good as a shirt. I especially like the feel of the inside fabric combined with the more upscale look of the outside fabric.

The heavier weight is great for more casual activity, like birding, but I suspect it would be too much for anything too active, or if worn under another layer. In short, just right for what I do. Now I want a short-sleeve version at this weight!

I wear these as a base layer for winter hiking, working outdoors in cold weather and cave exploration. After one cave trip, where I got soaked in cold water, I spent several hours above ground riding a four-wheeler and hiking in 20 degree weather with a 15 mph wind. These kept me warm even when wet. They are also nice to wear inside if you keep the thermostat turned down.
