Part of the Outdoor Research softshell collection, the women's Aspect jacket features moderate weather resistance, temperature adjustability and the versatility to perform in all kinds of conditions.

Soft-shell construction combines high- and low-loft fleece to direct maximum protection to where exposure is greatest, and breathability to where it's needed most
Nylon shell fabric is highly breathable and water-resistant; wear the Aspect jacket as an insulating mid-layer, or as a stand-alone outer layer in mild to moderate weather

Bought this jacket to replace my well-loved Red Ledge soft shell. The jacket overall is a bit bulky and stiff, but also is very well made. The real deal-breaker for me is the fit. It is very loose in the middle and too narrow in the shoulders. It feels as if a men's medium was narrowed at the shoulders to make a women's medium. Too bad the fit was not better, or else I would have kept it! Maybe it's perfect for those with narrow shoulders?

I bought this for my girlfriend as a good jacket for hiking/camping as well casually. She loves it! The vent zippers are great, waterproof and fleece lined make this jacket very comfortable. Extra pockets and features take it over the top. Great buy.

The good: The design of this jacket is good. It's very functional and has a lot of useful pockets - a rare feature in women's garments. The cut is very roomy, so layering will be easy. The jacket is warm and well-insulated. It seems like a men's jacket modified very slightly to be sold to women.

The bad: The "softshell" fabric of this jacket is very, very stiff. It feels like wearing an insulated lunchbox. The plastic-like sheen isn't particularly attractive. The roomy cut translates into a relatively unflattering look. This jacket is best for a woman who is interested only in the jacket's function, not its form.
