Comments about Patagonia Primo Shell Jacket - Men's:
Patagonia's Primo Jacket is a high quality product but unfortunately has a number of poor design choices.
Pro:
The Jacket is definitely of high quality that lives up to Patagonia's name. Materials feels very durable and long lasting. And finally, they use Gore-Tex again but not other imitaion waterproof materials. These are all Good.
Cons:
The Jacket sizing feels too big. For a goretex jacket that's priced so high, I expected a much more thought out design. First, the zipper is only ONE WAY. For any 3-ply jacket of this sort, a double/two way zippers are needed so that you can open up from bottom or from top. It's very inconvenient especially when sitting down or driving and you cannot loosen just the bottom part of the zipper. Also, the pockets are all very small. The two main side pockets of average sizes. For my Sierra designs 3ply shell, I could put a full size water bottle in either my main side pockets. But for these pockets, they can at most fit a can of cola. And the interior zipper pocket cannot even hold my average size men wallet. There are two internal mesh pockets for gloves or storing something quick but there are no zippers. They are convenient, but not secure. For winter activites, you always want secure pockets so you things won't slip out of the pockets.
The skirt is useful only for skiing but it should have been made detachable so you can use the jacket for normal daily activities.
For the price they charge, I would really expect a whole lot more in terms of design for this jacket.
Hope they can improve on the next iteration.

Comments about Patagonia Primo Shell Jacket - Men's:
I'm 5'11" and 150lbs. I usually wear mediums but I fit somewhere between a small and a medium with this jacket. Patagonia tweaked the Primo's sizing in 2011 - it's long and the sleeves are long. If you downsize, it's likely that the upper arms and shoulders will be a little tight. I went with the medium and still enjoy the jacket, but wish it fit better.
