These pants are awesome. I am so glad I took a chance and bought these over the Internet without having tried them on. I am 5'10" and it is usually very difficult to find pants that fit my long legs. These are more than long enough. They shrunk about half an inch in the wash, and so far they are holding up very well. Great for casual wear around the house, city walking/errands, and outdoor activities such as hiking or rock climbing.

this pant would be amazing. i'm 6'3", nearly 6'4", and finding pants that claim to be "tall" but actually fit is extremely difficult. the inseam on this pant is long enough! i was so excited when i tried them on. great pocket design, the 'no sit zip' for the convertible short is functional. handling two zippers instead of just one is a little annoying, but i like the idea behind it. they're lightweight, straight leg fit (which was also great because i have big thighs). these pants would have been purchased but for one thing.

the rise...is... enormous. i don't mind it when pants sit a little below my waist, it's fine. i don't like wearing pants slung low on my hips that show my crack every time i bend over. but, being tall, i'm long, and if i wanted the crotch to fit right on these pants and allow me better range of motion i had to pull these pants halfway up between my belly button and my chest. i spent about 20 minutes in the dressing room experimenting with wearing them a little lower on the waist, but then i could barely mock step up on to the seat in the fitting room (which was only just over 2.5' off the ground, and if you're hiking, you want pants that allow you to get up the trail) and it shortened my stride.

while i was amazed that the pants were just still long enough even when hiked all the way up, i was really uncomfortable with the way they fit at the waist and couldn't buy them.

REI - keep making pants this long for women! i hate wearing mens pants! they aren't cut for women with hips. but have a couple more options for women, please? i tried on the rendezvous and it didn't fit my thighs...

This used to be the perfect pant. It fit right, had all the right pockets, velcro straps, the zipper was in the right place, the fabric was comfortable - this pant couldn't be beat. I've hiked all over in them.

I went to REI to buy a new pair and they've changed the sizing and some of the styling. I can't figure out what is going on with the size - it's too small in the waist and too long. They removed the very useful velcro strap at the ankle. The zipper for the shorts was in the wrong place.

I hope they bring back the old version of the pants, it didn't need any changing, except for maybe more elastic in the waistband.

Okay, so I bought these on clearance at my local REI for less than half the price so I feel like I got a steal! Mine are the khaki color.

The pants are lightweight and flexible so they work well for hiking in mildly cool weather. I used mine for a 5-mile hike at Big Bear, but unfortunately I wasn't too prepared for the snowfall this past weekend Nov 5, 2011 so I wore my Salomon leggings underneath to stay warm. The temperature was about 30-32 degrees and without the leggings underneath, I would've froze in these pants! Don't hold that against them, they are made to be lightweight.

I am not a Tall person (5'6) but I like some clothing to fit well over my Northface Jannu GTX hiking boots so I like the extra length and the ability to open up the bottom for more shoe coverage. The snap bottom has two buttons on each leg so you can adjust the width of the leg opening.

One thing that my pants don't have, that the description above lists, are the side zippers running down the length of the leg. Now I double checked my tags and they say that my pants are indeed the Sahara Convertible in Tall but I'm guessing mine are an older model (that's probably why they were on clearance), but I'm cool with that because I still think they are awesome pants. I haven't had to convert them into shorts yet but they appear to do so pretty easily.

I purchased these inside the REI CO-OP in Manhattan Beach and the service was excellent as usual. There were plenty of sizes to choose from and the fitting rooms were tidy.
