    The women's REI Sahara Convertible plus-size pants with No-Sit Zips feature an innovative design that makes converting from pants to shorts and back again easier than ever before!

    • Side zippers run the full length of the lower legs; together with thigh zippers they allow quick conversions without having to sit down
    • They also preclude the need to slip lower leg sections over messy boots when converting from pants to shorts along a muddy trail
    • Color-coded thigh zippers help you easily tell the right leg from the left leg when converting back to pants
    • Lightweight nylon faille fabric dries quickly, resists pilling and is easy to pack away in a backpack

          For the last two months, I've been shopping for an upcoming trip to Asia. I was really excited about these pants, and I ordered them as soon as they were available.

          I ordered the same size I got in the REI Rendezvous Convertible Pants (darker pants in the picture), but these feel so much bigger. The rise is really high, they seem longer, the pant leg is really wide (very unflattering when the bottoms are attached), and the waist fits much bigger (doesn't help that it's part elastic). If it weren't for the attached belt, I'm not sure they would stay up!

          However, the length of the shorts is what I was expecting, and the material seems like it will be really cool for a summer in Asia, which is what I need. These are almost perfect for my needs.

          I think a size down would fit much better (and be more flattering). Unfortunately, I leave before I could get a smaller pair in the mail, and they're not yet available in REI stores near me. I'm not yet sure if I will keep them.

          I wore these one the Hollyford Track, New Zealand as well as other day hikes. I was able to wash them out in the sink/tub at night and they were dry by morning.

          I was thrilled to find hiking wear in my size!!

            Plus size options in any outdoor/recreational clothing is generally limited and usually unflattering. These pants, with the small elastic bands on either side of the waistband, are better than most. For me, they're a little baggy in the crotch and shorter than I wear my jeans, but for light hikes, they'll do just fine.

            These are high quality pants and I like the improvement of not having to sit to convert to shorts. Unfortunately, the sizing is completely inconsistent with the old sahara zip off pants. I ordered a size larger and they were smaller than the ones I own from last year! Order one or two sizes up.
