Comments about Mountain Hardwear Zonal Jacket - Men's:
The Zonal jacket is warm for it's weight. Hard to believe 13 oz can keep you that warm. I got it for Christmas, so obviously I have not had time to test it for hiking/camping/snowboarding yet. I have worn it "around town" though, and with a merino base layer I was comfortable in the 40's. Once it got down to into the low 30's I started to get chilled, threw on a soft shell over it and was very warm.
The jacket is very thin too, not like the bulky 650 down that this jacket will replace. So it layers extremely well underneath a shell. I have broad shoulders and I did read a few reviews off other sites that the armpits are cut narrow. This is definitely true, the armpit seem is cut extremely close. So if you have broad shoulders and don't like any type of "bunching" feeling under you arm I would not recommend this jacket. Mobility is slightly limited due to the narrow cut, I notice it more in the elbow than anywhere else, which could be a product enhancement, to put the stretch fleece as an elbow patch...
The jacket is an active cut, I am 5'11" and 195, 36 inch waist, I got the large and it is probably the snuggest outer layer I have ever owned. This is what I wanted though in order to fit under hard and soft shells that I own. Do not expect to fit a lot of layers under this jacket, two at the most. You shouldn't need to anyway, a mid weight base layer, this jacket, and shell should be good into the 20's.
The jacket appears to be pretty well made, but I will have to wait a couple months to see how it holds up to backpacking, snowboarding, and a lot more everyday use.... Before writing any judgement on durability. I give it 4 stars for now, due to the the slightly limited mobility and holding out judgment on durability. I will update this review in the spring after a winters use.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Zonal Jacket - Men's:
I wanted something versatile, and this is it. It works for heading to class in the mornings, fits nicely under my soft shell for ski season, and also fits under my rain jacket for hiking. Not to mention it is insanely light weight. Pretty good all around. Fits a little tight in the armpits, and the side panels make it not very good in windy conditions, but overall these are minor issues, at least for me.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Zonal Jacket - Men's:
This jacket is extremely warm for how thin and light it is. I am very impressed. It makes a killer midlayer underneith a waterproof shell. The only reason that I got it was because it was on clearence, but I would have bought it anyway now that I know how well it works. It's decent for casual wear as well, it's not puffy or strange looking like some other insulation peices. Great for a variety of uses. Keep it mind though, it does run a bit small so I would order a size up. I got an XL size but I usually fit large size.
