I bought this harness for a dog that I was dogsitting for. He managed to knock the one he previously had off of the hook and chewed it to pieces. Buying a new one perfectly replaced the old one, except that his old one was a M/L and the new one I bought was an L. It's a good harness for walks, because it keeps them from being able to pull too hard. He is a silly dog and, while he'd behave for his owners he'd throw himself on the ground and roll around because he was SO EXCITED TO GO FOR A WALK with me, which made putting it on more difficult.

I am only writing this review because REI keeps emailing me about reviewing the item. It is a good product, and his owners made a good choice in choosing it in the first place, but I am not a dog owner and I only bought it as a replacement.

We have a 100lb labrador who is very strong and has a lot of energy. We had tried a traditional 'choke' chain collar which was used in his obedience training. Despite his prior training he still pulled a lot when walking him, but with the harness he's much more well-behaved. It takes a few minutes to fit the harness the first time, but once done it's good to go. I recommend only releasing the lower strap when applying/removing the harness to make it simpler.

This harness is pretty sweet. I had tried a choke collar and one of the pinching ones and this harness works far better than either to control my dogs pulling habit.

I have gone through 2 of these dog harnesses in less than 2 years, on my third now why, because I can't find another brand in the same style. I have a Siberian husky and she is very active and I need a chest pull type harness. The two main problems I have found with this harness are the adjustments don't stay in place. They used a non friction metal slide and they don't stay in place, you have to constantly adjust the harness. Secondly the nylon webbing is cheap and it frays at the wear points and breaks. I guess I am giving it 3 stars because if you have a do nothing type dog it would work fine, not for an active/work type dog.

Best purchase I have ever made for my dog Fonzy

This device gives you great control while doing anything with your dog.

It COMPLETELY ends the tugging and pulling.

Its safe to use as it does not put strain or pressure on the neck or throat because it is a harness.

Its also great for assisting in picking him up or securing him in the car with a seat belt.

I would never use anything but this product on any dog ever again.
