Hyvent™ waterproof, breathable technology uses a multilayer polyurethane coating for waterproof protection and durability
Insulated with down for an unsurpassed warmth-to-weight ratio—down is the lightest, warmest and most compressible insulation available
Features a removable hood with detachable faux-fur trim; drawcord adjustment lets you seal in warmth
2-way front zipper features snap-close draft flaps
Hem and waist drawcords and adjustable rip-and-stick cuffs keeps the cold from penetrating
Outside pockets include 2 zippered chest pockets, 2 large hand/cargo pockets and a sleeve pocket
Inside storage on The North Face McMurdo parka includes glove and water bottle pockets and a zippered electronics pocket

Keeps me plenty warm in the bitter winters of Minnesota and the mountains of Colorado. Couldn't ask for a better winter parka. Since it is bulky, this is not the best product for outdoor activities.

I know a good coat when I see it; after 23 years in the military under extreme cold conditions, and this is a quality coat, you can see by the way it is made, which is very well. It has several pockets inside and out, for your wallet and your cell phone. The durable outer shell will make this coat last for a long time. It has multiple uses; from casual hikes to extreme adventures. It is surprising how nice this coat is made.

Haven't used the parka in all conditions yet, but wore it in Montana in February and I was warm and comfortable in 15 degree weather with snow and wind.

very well made, everything looks & feel good at first, I mostly use the coat for working outdors on a tractor w/ no cab, in wisconsin winters. Unfortunately, I wore the coat outside standing still at night, in 26 deg weather [that is not cold for here], for 40 min. full gear on [3 fleece layers ,2 polar,1 base],my arms & shoulder started to get cold.Dont want to try it when it get in the teens, so it is going back.

This is a great winter parka for the cold ND winters. It is bulky but it is warm. I like the option to remove the hood. The fur is also removable from the hood. Draw string at the waist is nice. Sleeves are long enough and have adjustable Velcro at the wrist.
