The North Face Storm Peak Triclimate® 3-in-1 jacket keeps the weather out while flexing and stretching in all of your wintery activities. Soft-shell jacket features a removable liner jacket.
- Wear the shell jacket and zip-in liner jacket together for maximum protection or wear either piece on its own as weather warrants

I was able to put this jacket to the test on a hike in the Rockies. It was -10° F, but I was toasty for the entire 2.5 hour hike. Not only did this jacket keep me warm, it didn't allow in any wind or moisture.
I really like the removable/replaceable liner because it can be used in extreme cold or just slightly cool weather. It may seem a little pricey, but you're actually getting a cold weather jacket, a light pull-over and a rain jacket — all in one! When comparing that to the price of 3 separate pieces, it is a steal.
The only down-side of this jacket is that the sleeves seem a little long for the size I purchased. However, this may be due to the fact that it is indeed a cold weather jacket and a little extra length is necessary to compensate for layering and to allow you to cover/tuck it into gloves.

I've only had this jacket for a short period of time but, the initial quality is apparent. It is a good looking jacket that is not bulky for the protection it advertises. I don't think it would be a jacket that would be warm enough to wear a t-shirt under during a blizzard but, it's quite sufficient. The inner jacket zips out pretty easy and provides a comfortable rain jacket when the temps are above 32.
The only complaint I might have is that I am a bit unfamiliar with the 'athletic' fit of this jacket. I'm 6'1" 205lbs and find that if you were even slightly larger you'd have to go for the XL. My size 42-44 chest is just ever so slightly tight in this jacket with a sweater on underneath. Like I said, it may be my lack of familiarity of this athletic fit but, its more fitted than I am used to for a winter coat. This same 'issue' likely makes it a less bulky/obtrusive jacket for active wear.
Bottom line: it appears to be a great buy even at a bit higher price.

It is a great jacket overall. I wear it for the North West wet/cold/windy weather and it works great except for it is only water resistant and Not proof but I can live with it. The only other negative I can think of is that it fits a bit tight or snug when the liner is inserted.

This is a great jacket (warm, comfy, 3-in-1, has a hood, waterproof, lots of fit adjustments). My only complaint is that you can't wear anything even slightly bulky underneath when the two pieces are connected. The arms are tight and push you're clothing up when putting it on.

Jacket performs wonderfully! I use this jacket camping, hiking, and even occasionally trail-running when it gets really cold here in MD. The versatility of the 3-in-1 systems can't be beat, and the inner jacket is a quality as the outer jacket in this case, which unfortunately isn't always the case. Very windy/ rainy and very cold? Use them together. Just windy/cold? Use the outer. Just cold? Probably the inner by itself will do. Great piece of gear.

Great Jacket, fitment is great. Lightweight, not bulky which is great. Used for weather 30 degrees and below for work and pleasure. Breathability is great, used while working outdoors (radio infrastructure install/de-install)makes it ideal and the ability to dress down as needed with innner jacket. Plenty of pockets. For milder weather, just the inner jacket is used. Great color scheme and can also be used for snowboarding/skiing.
