Comments about REI Airflyte Running Pants - Men's:
For my uses these are the best pants for running/workout that I've found. It's a challenge for me because:
- I don't like shorts, even in warm weather
- I don't like pants that are loose and flopping around
- I've tried traditional tights but don't like the revealing nature - I get self conscious.
I've found a few things on the market that meet the above criteria but these REI Airflytes are just perfect. Comfy, really well constructed, warm but not hot (too warm for running outside on a hot day but fine for A/C'd gym in summer) They are very form fitting, stretch easily and allow full freedom of movement but are thick enough and not totally body-hugging so they're not 'revealing'. I love 'em and I'm going to buy more pairs.
At around $50 it's good value for such well made pants too. Highly recommended.

These sport pant are well made and fit well but are not warm. I wouldn't wear these under 50 degs because they have a mesh strip on the sides that let in all the cold air.....other then that they're great pants

Comments about REI Airflyte Running Pants - Men's:
Bought these pants after trying another brand that turned out to be too thin and loose fitting to keep me warm on winter runs. The REI Airflyte running pants are perfect for keeping my legs warm while training in typical Pacific Northwest winter conditions. Have run in them from temperatures ranging from 25 degrees to 60 degrees and have been impressed as to their ability to keep me warm and comfortable in a wide range of weather conditions.

These are a great choice if you don't want to wear tights. The bottoms are still a little wide for my preference, but nothing too noticeable. I'm usually a small, but I couldn't even put on the smalls.

Comments about REI Airflyte Running Pants - Men's:
I really like that these pants are in between a snug fit tight and a loose sweat pant. The zippered legs are very nice to have as I tried a different tight without a zipper and couldn't get over my foot. They are very comfortable for running in cold weather. The only thing that could be better would be if they came in a Long length. I am 6'2" and they land above my ankles, which seems too short too me.

I waited until after my trip to Minnesota to leave a comment on this.
While some DC weather can get very cold, Minnesota during Christmas is a true test for cold weather clothing. These pants, combined with a pair of Under Armour ColdGear tights was all I needed (on the bottom portion) to stay warm while jogging in ~10 degree weather.
The fit: You have to know what you're getting into (literally). While these are a bit looser than my tights, from ankle to about mid-thigh, they're still pretty fitting. The mid-thigh to waist area gives it a little more room but can still be snug. They most certainly are not the baggy sweat pants you find on the benches of basketball courts.
I also have a fairly short inseam -- probably about 28" or so -- and the Medium Short fit perfectly.

Comments about REI Airflyte Running Pants - Men's:
Great pant. Only two issues: (1) Pocket material is really thin, the ones I ordered didn't even have a fully sewn pocket. If you use them to go to the gym, keep in mind they won't hold up to carrying heavy or pointed objects. (2) There was no reflective material on my pants. Aside from these two issues, I found them to be a great pant and would buy more, even if I had to modify them to make up for these issues.

Comments about REI Airflyte Running Pants - Men's:
Purchased these pants to run in during the fall/winter months. They are exactly what I was looking for, pants that are form fitting but not tights. I wear compression shorts underneath the pants and they are very comfortable and do not restrict my movement at all. I've worn them in 30 degree weather and they kept me warm. Overall I would recommend these to any runner that doesent necessarily what to wear tights but doesn't want loose pants either. BTW other reviews on here mentioned the fit not being quite right. I am 5' 10" 215 pounds and they fit well, length/waist/ etc.
Service and delivery comments:
Purchased online and had them in about 5 days.

Just what I needed! Perfect for the cold Pacific Northwest months. True to size, snug in the right places. I'm 6'4" 200lb and the L Long were perfect length to the top of my shoes. The ankle zippers are great as well. You will love them and the REI price is right. Did buy a small pair for my wife, as they didn't have a womans available, Bad idea...she loves them but to much room in the junk trunk!

Comments about REI Airflyte Running Pants - Men's:
These running pants are a great compromise between tights and looser fitting training pants.
These pants do not flop around when you run and they keep you warm in colder weather. On the other hand, they are not overly tight or uncomfortable for those of us that are in shape but still do not wish to wear tights.
I recently used these for a good 10 mile run in rainy, windy and cold (40 degrees) Seattle weather and they were perfect. These pants certainly are not rain proof but they do seem to be water resistant and they kept me perfectly warm during my run in cold weather.
While these pants were suitable in 40ish degree weather, if the climate dropped into the 20's I do think that one might need something even warmer than these (relatively thin) running pants.
