Sturdy Gore-Tex® Pro Shell uses 3-layer construction for superb durability, light weight and waterproof, windproof, breathable protection
For greater range of motion, Gore-Tex stretch material is placed on the back of shoulders and underarms
Nylon microgrid lining resists snags, enhances breathability and eases layering
Integrated hood with beefy laminated brim withstands intense weather with ease and comfort; drawcord sides secure fit, even over a helmet
Embedded RECCO® reflector enhances radio signals from search-and-rescue Recco detectors for quicker acquisition of position in an avalanche
Powder skirt with elastic keeps spindrift out while encouraging airflow; zip integration offers a seamless barrier with compatible pants (sold separately)
Pit vents with waterproof zippers open to adjust body temperature; back flow vents give additional temp control, expelling heat as needed during high activity
2 hand pockets, slanted chest pockets and bicep pocket, all with waterproof zippers, keep accessories organized; bicep pocket contains cleaning cloth for goggles

The North Face really exceeded my expectations with this product, Ive researched and owned other products "very similar" to this product and with all the time spent deciding what I was going purchase, this product caught my eye. It was tough to spend the $ on something I couldn't try on, I trusted my knowledge of great products and went with it. I received the coat in little time, I was instantly impressed, I wanted to wait to write this review until I was able to use it in weather which others would sit at home scared and cry. I was out walking in downpours, windy, cold, sleety conditions. Needless to say I'm here writing this review still impressed. The best thing about the product is the number of pockets and small features you won't find in other so called "better" brands that have two pockets, and a hood with a lizard sewed in the chest. Get real this product is a great buy, don't knock it unless you've tried it and have similar comparisons to make.

Over and Over I read how people say that North Face products are not as good as they once were many years ago. In some parts I agree. But this jacket stands out as amazing! I tried many jackets over the past few years looking for the perfect jacket. One that would stand up to hard weather/tree skiing, etc. This is the one! The jacket is 100% water proof along with the durability of the fabric is amazing. It also is very good at keeping off stains. The hood fits perfect over a helmet with very little wind noise. If I had to pick, and it is hard, one bad items its that like so many north face items the sleeves are long, but that's about it! This jacket is the North Face we all grew to love and know!

This jacket has outstanding functionality with excellent options for gear/ googles etc. Outsanding fabric which is highly wind and water resistant as well as breathable. When it is too hot, the jacket has many pockets which can be unzipped to enhance temp control. Great jacket, would recommend. Looks steezy in yellow, only beef would be that it puffs at the midrif/ waist ?

I got this product to use as an outer shell for my layering system. Used in Oregon Cascades. Wind, rain, freezing rain, snow and sunny days. Exceeded expectations. What I like most is that it vents well enough to wear with just a base layer in the sun or during high exertion yet at night, add a down puffy layer and your roasty toasty. Just got back from a two day snowshoe trip with a 38lb pack and was never sweaty or cold. Seems a little baggy to wear as an everyday coat (over sized so as to fit my puffy) but this coat rocks when you need to batten down the hatches for winter weather.
