Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
Wanted pants that were warm, wind resistant and not bulky. Windbrake Therm. are good pants for camping to your early morning dog walk in cold weather. They wash up nice. I'm a 32" waste, but these pants in a medium are snug in the waste but fit fine in seat, leg and length. I could have a miss size marked pair, who knows.

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
I LOVE THESE. I'm 6'6'' tall, hard to fit and the large fit me just right, to my surprise. These fit really well and I really dig they have a tie-string inside the waist with a hook-snap, and then a snap: 3 layers of "keep 'em on" which helps if you have a pack on. Ankle zips w/ velcro straps (keep open or closed) are very nice feature, as are in the interior 'guards' on leg insides @ base of pant. I only wish there were 2 back pockets vs. just one - the front two are zipped, so very good for making sure your stuff doesn't drop out.
I have zero complaints for this pant - and they look good for around town or hiking and cool weather. Can be worn under larger ski / board pants too on very cold days. A very high quality item I say - and I'm VERY picky...I consider anything I buy as a trial period until I approve of it, and if I don't - it goes back. This one was an instant winner.

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
i was looking for something a little heavier than my fleece "sweat" pants; i dont like wearing bike tights, but plain fleece doesnt work in sub 30 rides. I bought these and they are very warm. I wish they were a little more articulated, tho its not like theyre restrictive. a fuller drawstring would also help. all in, i like them on my night rides when the mercury is down low.

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
I have been using these pants to walk my dog in the morning. They keep my legs warmer than normal pants do. Today the temp was mid 20's with wind gusts up to 35mph. These pants withstood the strongest wind gusts with no wind getting through. Last year I wore flannel-lined pants, but I think these work better.
I can wear them around the house without using the drawstring, but I've found the drawstring necessary if walking any distance or doing anything active (not a con, just an observation).
My only complaint is the two small velcro closures for the rear pocket. They are not big enough to keep the pocket closed when bending over, so I ripped them off.

Comments about REI Windbrake Thermal Pants - Men's 32" Inseam:
I bought the jacket and pants for fall and early-winter kayaking on large lakes and rivers around Central TN. Capsize is unlikely in these conditions, but drips from the paddle, splashes, and occasional waves washing the deck are normal.
The exterior is very water resistant; water just runs off it, and it takes several hours of being constantly wet for water to actually soak in. (Water pooled on my spray skirt, and slowly soaked onto my lap and thighs.)
The only place I got wet was when waves splashed up aronud my wrists, and then the water ran down inside my sleeve when I lifted for a stroke on the opposite side. Some cuffs or velcro wrist band will fix this for my next outing.
I am very, very pleased with the performance of this product!
