Dagger Axis 12 Kayak with Skegis rated5.0out of5by1.
Rated5out of5byDylan KfromI love this KayakI bought this Kayak about 2 years ago ( when they sold it in a solid orange color)
Besides its sleek and beautiful design, it performs great out on the water. I've only taken her out on the harmless Willamette, but I can say it tracks very well with the skeg dropped, as it glides through the water like nobodies business.
I Bought this kayak online out of impulse derived from my new found interest...Kayaking..... and got lucky. At 900 bucks, I gotta say that was a risky move.
The seat is comfortable, but after about a half hour I can feel slight discomfort in my back. I am 6'2, @ 180 LBS. The discomfort is minimal and I usually forget about it.
It has a horizontal water bottle Holder with two thin bands of bungee cord to hold the bottle in place, right there between your legs. Thigh pads, awesome and easy to adjust foot pegs, paddle holder, rear internal compartment ( The lid is harder to pull off than pulling Excalibur out of its stone. But after doing it a few times, it loosens up), Handles for carrying,mesh/bungee net. Most importantly...the Skeg and the Dagger Axis 12's minimal weight of 55 pounds. For 12 feet I think that's alright.
Over all I recommend this kayak to anyone and everyone. It's rated for both flat water (lakes/slow rivers) to class II/III rapids. It's very stable, well equipped. Being Mid-range in its price, i'd rate it with the more expensive kayaks.
Who needs a fiber glass boat that's gonna shatter if it bumps a floating log haha. Hope This review helped. Paddle safe, and BRING A PFD!!
