I bought this coat for everyday COLD weather use. I live in the city of Chicago and the combination of cold/wind can be unbearable. This coat has kept me warm from my head to my knees. I do not feel the wind penetrate through the coat. It was an excellent purchase and I would recommend it over The North Face

I gave this coat to my wife as a gift. I used to be in the business and I replaced her 4 yr. old Patagonia coat with this Marmot and she is thrilled. Much of my outdoor gear is Marmot and I'm familiar with the quality, fit, and functional use so I thought she would appreciate a nice piece of "technical" gear, even if it was only to keep her cozy in a cold Chicago winter. Simply said, she LOVES it! Thank you Marmot and REI.

I loved this coat as soon as I tried it on. I wanted something long & warm. The hood can be completely removed, but also, just the faux fur can be removed if that isnt your style. The jacket has a soft fleece inner lining through out. The pockets are zippered and there are interior zippering pockets as well.
I do worry about it snagging it on something, but it has been fine so far with everyday wear. It isnt the most durable outter material and would show flaws such as tears or stains.

Service and delivery comments:

I cannot say enough about the customer service that I received while purchasing this product. I was in a car accident a week after I bought this coat and was devistated when the seatbelt left a burn mark across the chest. The insurance company was going to replace it for me so I wanted to make sure I could get the exact same jacket. Unfortunately, my local REI was all out, but my customer service rep was incredible in solving the issue & was able to look up what stores had the jacket in the color and size I needed. He called a store in Connecticut and had it shipped for free to my house within 5 days (around the Holidays even!) Im so happy with the whole process!
