Great everyday jacket, perfect for Pacific Northwest winters. One-third the thickness of my old parka but just as warm. Excellent for rain and wind. Only one criticism: The zipper is a bit stiff, so the collar always stands up. But don't let that stop you from buying this jacket. I love it!

I use it everyday, especially now in the springtime. The day may start cool then gets warm but by the evening, it get pretty cold. The jacket comes in very handy. It's very attractive and fits well. I like the loose fit. The hood fits like a cap. It has a strap in the back of the head and when you pull on it, it adjust to your head size.

I had to get this jacket last minute after my snowboard jacket order got mysteriously cancelled (not REI's fault). I literally bought it the night before I left for my ski trip. It was a great deal. It's light weight, waterproof, breathable, and with appropriate layering, it can be used as an effective ski jacket. Unfortunately, no ski-skirt, so if you are rolling around in the snow, you might get some snow up your back, but it's not what the jacket was made for.
