Comments about GU Brew Electrolyte Tablets - 12 Servings:
I picked this up to take along on a hike and they were alright. I like the tablet idea because it takes up less space. However they only really offer electrolytes and very little other nutrients. So really unless you are a heavy sweater and need to replace electrolytes that bad this really isn't needed. The fizzing is also a problem as it takes a while to dissolve and at least for me the fizzing sensation upsets my stomach.
I am more of a fan of Gatorade because it offers carbohydrates as well so if you make a bottle at lunch you are helping to replenish your energy stores as well and electrolytes.
After researching this product as well as Camelbak's most of it is based on pseudoscience and is more of an advertising gimmick than actual fact. They want you to be drinking this all day when in reality if you sip on one bottle through out the day and then drink more water you will be in good shape.
So this would be good to help rehydrate but it is not needed, especially at the price

Comments about GU Brew Electrolyte Tablets - 12 Servings:
I used these while working on water projects at the peak of the dry season in India. The daytime temps were around 110 and the lows were in the upper 90s. Multiple days working hard and hiking in this weather made these a go-to product.

Comments about GU Brew Electrolyte Tablets - 12 Servings:
I've used GU, Hammer Nutrition, NUUN, and CamelBak Elixir tablets extensively (see also my review on the Hammers). I sweat profusely and require frequent and copious fluid and electrolyte replacement to avoid severe cramping.
All of the brands listed work well (NUUN, subjectively, somewhat less so), but the GU tablets seem to have the best flavor--not too sweet, but an appealing taste much more palatable than the others. One tablet per water bottle seems to be flavorful enough, as opposed to one-and-a-half or two for the others. I would rank them all by taste in this order: 1) GU Brew; 2) CamelBak; 3) Hammer, and 4) NUUN. This is, of course, a matter of personal opinion, but if taste matters to you, try the GU first.

Comments about GU Brew Electrolyte Tablets - 12 Servings:
This is a killer tablet - it beats out all others because it doesn't have a nasty artificial sweetener like nuun or elixer. These tablets are easy to use, dissolve quickly, and have a great electrolyte balance.
With 12 in a tube, it's easy to take along as much drink as you could need on a ride.
GU makes great stuff, and here's another great product from them
