This jacket is awesome. I just picked it up a few days ago and I'm totally impressed. The fit is great. I'm about 5'11" 160 lbs and the small fits great. It could be a little bit longer though, but sleeve length and cut is great. The helmet compatible hood cinches down great and has good peripheral view. The shoulders and arms have a 70 denier face fabric to help with abrasion resistance (not mentioned in the product description) while the rest of the jacked is 40D. I wore it for 4 hours in an all out downpoor and stayed totally dry. It's nice to see that Patagonia is finally starting to use Goretex instead of their proprietary H2No membrane.

The jacket is a little heavy for a raincoat. The wicking mesh liner in the back is great but the sleeves have a nylon liner that is substantially warmer than the rest of the jacket. The lining does however add to the comfort of the jacket, no more damp membrane sticking to your skin.

Comments about Patagonia Piolet Rain Jacket - Men's:

Patagonia makes great products - this jacket it an example of that. I replaced a Marmot gore-tex jacket I have had for 17 year with this Piolet Narwhal Grey jacket. I am a big fan of Patagonia and the quality of their products. I have found that the Piolet fits great and it is built to last. Regarding the fit, I am 6"1', and I weigh 165. The Medium fits me great. I can easily layer a fleece under it as well. I wear a 36 inch sleeve in a dress shirt and the sleeves of the Medium fall just at the base of the palm of my hand when my arms are at my side - perfect for me. I tried several other brands of waterproof jackets, but by far Patagonia fits better and the quality of their product is noticeably a step above most other brands. Additionally, with REI's return policy and Patagonia's Iron Clad Guarantee, you can't go wrong.
