The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Yepp Mini Front Bicycle Child Carrrier:
I've read some reviews that this carrier doesn't fit mountain bikes. I gave it a shot. Initially, when I tried to install it, I thought the steering tube is too tick. I removed the headset, the spacers and I installed the carrier bracket directly to the tube making the bracket work as the spacers. It worked perfectly on my Trek 4300. That did the trick for me. I'm happy with my purchase.

Comments about Yepp Mini Front Bicycle Child Carrrier:
Like the other reviewer, I bought this seat in hope of putting it on my hardtail mountain bike that's served as my general purpose bike. Doesn't work. There's simply not enough room between the frame and the stem, even if the steering tube was narrow enough (which it isn't). You need to have the threaded style steering tube (like on a hybrid or cruiser kind of bike). If you have any question, look at the picture of the product. If your bike doesn't look like that, it really won't work. This product is from Europe where a lot of people ride these kinds of bikes, but it's just not as common around here.
I'm actually in the process of finding a different bike because I really like this seat system. Seems ridiculous to change a bike to fit an accessory, but with a hybrid/city/commuter bike you sit up a bit straighter and more comfortably anyway. I don't think two stars is fair from the first reviewer (the seat itself is excellent quality), but make sure that you have a bike that this will work with.

Comments about Yepp Mini Front Bicycle Child Carrrier:
We got the front carrier because it has a better center of gravity than a rear. We saw these when we were in Amsterdam and loved how secure and comfortable they looked.
My son LOVES his yepp seat. He is almost 2 years old and in the 90th percentile for height (therefore tall). This fits him beautifully with room to grow (we actually had to shorten the leg posts). Aidan just smiled and waved and said "hi" to everyone we passed. He kept turning to look up at me and just smiled the biggest smile. He loves to go fast!
We did have a LOT of trouble finding a bike to fit the yepp, which is why I am really writing the review. Road and mountain bikes will NOT work - unless it is a really old mountain bike. Most new hybrid bikes will not work either. You will need an urban or comfort bike. The reason: The Headset.
Let me explain:
The newer headsets use spacers, instead of the old school threaded types which offer you a secure mounting point. Spacers make the bike lighter, which is why manufacturers use them on the mid to high range bikes. Urban, some hybrid and comfort bikes use the threaded headset (steering/handlebar).
Bikes that will not work: (I know because I had both - sold so I could ride with my boy)...
Trek FX, any model.
Cannondale Quick - all models.
Bikes that absolutely work:
KHS Urban XCape (The one I got - beautiful slender, stylish frame with 21 gears)
Bianchi Torino
GT Nomad LTD and Sport
Bikes that (may) work: (Did not get to see them in person - it took two weeks for me to find the perfect bike).
Cannondale Adventure 3
Schwinn Comfort bikes
Trek Comfort bikes
I highly recommend this product. It is so safe. I don't like people lecturing me on the lack of safety of a front mounted child carrier. The dutch are notorious for cycling with their kids and this is a dutch made seat. Post the statistics showing how rear mounted is much better than front and I may be open to a discussion. Chances are there aren't any available, since the U.S. seems to only promote rear mounted.
Happy rides and memories with your child :-)

I ended up trading my hard tail mountain bike for a city bike so that I could use this seat (there were other reasons too). You need a steering tube that looks like the one pictured, the threadless headsets on mountain bikes and some hybrids simply won't work with this product. Honestly, unless you have a bike with a fairly upright position, you wouldn't be comfortable anyway.
My 11 month old and I have ridden on this for a few miles, and he absolutely loves it. He seems very comfortable and engaged in the experience. I have my wife help me get him in and out of the seat (it's easier with another person, but possible if you're by yourself). Don't expect to be able to ride exactly how you would without a passenger. I definitely take it slower, anticipate stopping far in advance, and have to make wider turns. This product was perfect for us.

Comments about Yepp Mini Front Bicycle Child Carrrier:
I was pretty excited to get this and take my kid for a ride. The description says that it fits stems up to 28mm. This only goes on the stem if you have a quill-style stem (cruiser-style). It does not fit on the head tube and spacers of a typical mountain bike.
I searched the net & hit 4 local bike shops. No one has heard of a tapered head tube.
I am going to try the ibert, though I like the design of the Yepp much better.

Comments about Yepp Mini Front Bicycle Child Carrrier:
My 4 year old just outgrew our trailer so we were looking for something else for our 2 children. We ended up getting this for our 16 month old daughter and a trail a bike for our 4 year old son. Both of these hooked to our tandem bicycle. We are quite the sight going down the road!
I did a lot of research before purchasing this. I was worried about how safe my daughter would be on here in the unlikely event we crashed. I found a study by the AAP that boiled down to them being just as safe statistically as bike trailers and no deaths on them in 9 years. And most accidents happened when people were getting on and off of the bike, not an issue with a tandem. My husband would get on then I would get my daughter strapped in and my son settled on his trail a bike before hopping on myself. I was sold.
It is easy to get on and off of the bike but has a key lock so we could leave it without fear of theft. My 16 month old sat in the seat yelling "WEEE!!!" the first 10 minutes of riding. If we stopped and let her off she was over there trying to climb back into her seat. We were worried about her falling asleep but we just tied her favorite blanket to the bar and she was able to sleep comfortably, helmet and all.
We went with this one over a cheaper model because of the cushion, the high back on the seat, and the fact it mounts to the handlebars. There's no way she can grab the handlebars and turn them suddenly like on others that mount to the center bar.
We are very happy with our choice and we feel safe with her in it. In fact, we feel safer than with her in the trailer. No more close calls because of the width!

Comments about Yepp Mini Front Bicycle Child Carrrier:
I recently bought this seat for my 22 month old, 25lb son. It's very well engineered & attractive (compared to other bike seat designs). I initially couldn't decide between the Yepp Maxi or Mini. I decided on the Yepp Mini to keep my rear rack clear for cargo/groceries since I commute to work and run many small errands on my bike. While the Maxi has a higher weight limit, my son is only 25 lbs, so it will be a while before he reaches the 33lb limit. The seat was very easy to install. I was able to have it out of the box and on the bike in under 10 minutes. However, I will say that the footrests were initially VERY stiff and hard to adjust, and I had to use so much force to move them that I was afraid I would break the plastic part that slides on the metal rail. It moves much more freely now, but the same thing happened on both sides. [...] Prior to using this seat, I had never ridden with a child seat and I was very nervous about how it would effect my bike's handling. I am happy to report that while I can certainly feel a difference in steering (a bit more sluggish), it only took a few minutes of riding in a parking lot to adjust to the change. Since my son is in front of me, rather than behind like most carriers, I have a pretty good idea if he's about to make a sudden, drastic movement (i.e. leaning far to the side to see a bird, dog, something shiny, etc) so I have time to compensate as needed, rather than being caught off guard if he were behind me. The mounting mechanism is my favorite part of the seat. It's quick and easy. It literally takes 2 seconds. Push a button and slide a latch and off it comes. It has a key to lock it into place, for both safety and as an anti-theft measure (but I don't see theft of the seat as a major worry here in the US).I love it and definitely recommend it. I will upgrade to the Yepp Maxi when he reaches the weight limit of the Mini, as I'm thoroughly impressed with the quality and sturdiness of the seat.

Comments about Yepp Mini Front Bicycle Child Carrrier:
We LOVE this child-friendly bicycle seat, and so does our child. We feel completely safe using the mini Jepp. It allows us to be in total control, to observe our child continually, and most importantly, communicate with him while cycling. My wife and I have two separate adaptors attached to both of our cycles, this makes using the Jepp so easy. We simply clip the seat from one bike to the other based on who's taking Bowie out next. This takes seconds ! All in all we are delighted and can't recommend the product enough. Happy cycling !

Comments about Yepp Mini Front Bicycle Child Carrrier:
We first encountered the Yepp front carrier in the Netherlands, where it was invented. It is universal there, seen on zillions of "omafeits" bikes. The fact that the rider can for all intents embrace the child, and the front / center placement of the center of gravity are outstanding safety features. The only problem is if the baby falls asleep there is no head support but that was an easily solved problem with an inflatable neck pillow, such as is commonly used on airplanes. Our daughter just loves her Yepp and it rides beautifully on my wife's Electra Amsterdam. We installed the auxiliary windshiled too, and highly recommend that too.

Comments about Yepp Mini Front Bicycle Child Carrrier:
This bike seat is fantastic, my daughter and I love it. I have a cruiser bike and it works great with it, it was also very easy to install. I love the material it is made out of, and the colors are great. I got the orange one and I also bought the Miffy sleep support which has already proved very useful. I would highly recommend!
