Comments about GSI Outdoors Spice Missile:
I don't get this thing. The weight to volume ratio is WAY TOO HIGH to be used in the field. This thing is built like a missile. I feel it is overdesigned.
I got this with the GSI cook set and I never plan on using it. It just sits in a box with other unused gear.
Unless you are looking for a spice system that doubles as a car jack...get something else.

Comments about GSI Outdoors Spice Missile:
I bought this for the same reasons listed by the other reviewers: I wanted to carry more than 2 spices but didn't want to carry 6 huge jars of spices that take up precious room. This is a great tool where everything screws together nicely. Some of the shaker heads have bigger holes than others to allow for bigger/clumpier spices (or more spice per shake, I guess). The bottom comes off to reveal a hidden 50/50 cap that makes refills easy without contaminating your other spices.
I've found this doesn't work great for camping...I used up almost all the spices on the first day when cooking for 5 people. This would be great for backpackers who want more than a prepackaged freeze dried meal...or to spice one of those up a bit more.

Comments about GSI Outdoors Spice Missile:
I was originally considering just the GSI Salt and Pepper shaker but wanted to carry more than 2 spices on a month long mostly camping trip. In order to keep food interesting I wanted to bring along a decent number of spices for plenty of recipes and this is perfect. It holds 6 spices, 3 shakers with 2 compartments in each one.
The top shaker has a screw on top, the bottom two use the above container as their top. The ingenious lid that is stored in the bottom of the shaker covers 1 of the 2 compartments so you can refill 1 spice at a time, and stows so handily it's always with you.
The 3 shakers have 2 kinds of tops, 2 are smaller holes for most of your usual spices and 1 has larger holes for the larger spices.
It's pretty indestructible and water/airtight so spices should keep very well. The compartments are a little small so they may not be big enough for a number of group meals on a single trip, but for 2 people on a month long trip with I think we'll be ok.
I loved it so much I bought a 2nd one to hold another 6 different spices. They're skinnier than a normal salt shaker and between the 2 i'll be able to make a lot of meals.

Comments about GSI Outdoors Spice Missile:
I had originally used the GSI Outdoors Salt and Pepper Shaker (http://www.rei.com/product/784122/gsi-outdoors-salt-and-pepper-shaker) and it worked great, but I was limited to two spices only.
This shaker comes in three separate compartments, each having two halves which can hold their own spices - making six spices available.
I used to have just pepper and adobo in the aforementioned shaker, now I can add salt and even garlic powder to the mix.
