Manduka PROlite Yoga Mat is rated 4.5714 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, love, love after lots of use OK, so I've been doing yoga for ages and was finally convinced that my daily practice warrants a decent mat. I started the search by reading every online review and best yoga mat list I could handle (a lot!) and asking people at the various studios I frequent how they felt about their mats and if I could give them a quick Downward Dog Test (tests squishiness, smell, and stickiness quickly enough that most people don't feel weird about you on their mat). I have had my ProLite for a year and a half, practice on it several times per week, and am so thrilled with it that I want to share my two cents! The Easy to Eliminate: Lululemon is just not my style. I mean, gosh, they make it all pretty, but they are not my people. Between the sexifying of yoga and the Ayn Rand quotations on the bag, they lost me forever. I also loathe the slimy plastic-ky, squishy mats. The Hard to Eliminate: the "Eco" Mats: I tried the eco mats because it's such a nice idea, but I just cannot handle the smell. I get migraines and somehow that is tied to scent sensitivity. Some people have no problem with that. If you fall in this category, I recommend the Jade eco mat. I liked it a lot despite its weird texture. It definitely has a strange synthetic creepy texture. I got used to that really fast, but even after hanging the mat on the porch in front of a fan and keeping it out for a month, I could not adjust to the smell/stink. The Best: So professionals, enthusiasts, and reviewers all seem to agree that the Manduka Black Mat is The Best on Earth. I have a few troubles with this. One, it is massively heavy. Two, it is black. I don't like black. I don't understand why we need it in the world when we have brown and navy. Petty? Perhaps. But when I am doing yoga, I seriously zen out and it's MY mat and if I don't like black...Lucky for me, the ProLite exists. The ProLite is a little lighter than the Black Mat and it's not black! I am ridiculously, like rave to friends and gush to my husband after practice, thrilled with it. It is so sturdy, so not slippery, perfectly padded without being squishy. And it is this peaceful amazing moss color. Eco conscious people, I think this mat is going to last me the rest of my life. I've hauled it all over the place, worked out on it, done yoga on it, the dog is always trying to claim it for a bed, and it still looks like new. OK, not quite new, but basically new. I cannot recommend it enough and if I ever get robbed, I will without question replace it with another! The one down side: it is still really heavy. It is definitely a home mat. For me, the four pounds is fine to haul to the studio, but I am going on a trip for a few weeks and I don't know what to do. I can't imagine being without my mat, but I also can't quite convince myself to carry the huge thing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Pad, But I don't do Yoga I only do yoga a few times per year when I'm really feeling like it, but I got this pad for home use. I stretch on it after a swim, bike, or run and do core almost daily. It is extremely comfortable on my hardwood floor and stores nicely in the corner when I don't need it. The only thing that kept this from getting a fifth star was that I didn't like having to pay so much money, but such is the way with good-quality yoga mats I guess.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best yoga mat I use my manduka pro everyday. It is a bit heavy for me but absolutely love how the mat stay grounded during yoga and hot pilates. I bought one Prolite for my boyfriend and he loves it too. So we bought this latest Prolite as a birthday gift for his friend. I believe she will fall in love with yoga, just like us.. We have tested this mat and have own it for the last 3 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth its weight The Manduka PROlite yoga mat may weigh a bit more than other mats, but it is worth the extra weight. It is nice and grippy: no slipping on this mat. It's worth the price, too. If you need a lot of cushion you may want to choose a thicker mat, but I love my Manduka PROlite. It's just... right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight, thick, and non-stick! I have been an avid hot-yoga enthusiast for almost 10 years. I practice 4-5 x weekly. I also sweat - ALOT. I have used several different mats, the most recent being The Mat from Lulu. This manduka has exceeded my expectations. I use the equa-plus towel over it and have found no slipperiness at all. I also like that it is a closed-cell mat, that should resist breaking-down as well as bacterial growth. I spray it down after each practice with a mixture of water, witch hazel, and essential oils. I am very pleased with this mat - hoping it will last a long time!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Little stinky, little slippy, but good mat I read online reviews for about all brands and styles of mat. Guess what? Every single one has the same complaint - it smells, and it slips. In my yoga life, I've found that to be true - however... I find this one not *that* smelly, or that slippery providing you aren't in a hot class where you are dripping like a waterfall. For regular class, use some chalk on your hands (why does no one talk about chalk anymore? life saver) and with time, some scrubbing (the salt idea is a good one) and some use it will break in. I honestly don't think there is a mat that comes out of the packaging 100% ready to go. If there was, we'd all own one. :)
