Comments about REI Rauk Jacket - Men's:
I first saw this a while back when it was full price. When I saw it on the clearance rack after I thought it had been discontinued, I snapped it up. It's a perfect mid- or outer-layer for climbing, hiking, whatever by itself or under a hard or softshell. And just like it says, the pockets stay away from waist belts - harness or pack. Nicely done!
It reminded me of another brand's jacket from years ago that I was never able to get. The hood is cut just right around the face, and it's stetchy enough to pull off even when zipped up. If I were to make any changes, it would be 1) make the sleeves a tad longer so they'r not quite so stretched out when the thumbholes are used (otherwise, they're the perfect length) and 2) lose the sleeve pocket and replace it on the chest.
Overall, I'm stoked on it. It's exactly what I wanted in a mid-layer that I can wear by itself or under a shell out ice climbing. REI definitely nailed it on this jacket. If you can get one, grab it.

Comments about REI Rauk Jacket - Men's:
This jacket fits well over a few layers and accomodates a outter rain shell well. It stretches enough to be quite comfortable but is made and is form fitting.
While it won't keep you dry in a pourdown, it does quite well here in the soggy northwest.
Plenty of pockets, and the sleeves have holes for thumbs. While the sleeves are fully extended it is quite warm, but they are a little long if you aren't using the thumb holes. And I woudn't want to do much with my hands with the sleeves all the way out because the material probably won't hold up.
Perfect for hiking/running.

Comments about REI Rauk Jacket - Men's:
I bought this jacket at my local REI off the clearance rack after briefly trying it on. It's incredibly cozy and quite warm for a thin jacket. I'm very pleased with it and it's holding up quite well.

Comments about REI Rauk Jacket - Men's:
I normally wear size large jackets and originally purchased this jacket in a large. It fit well through the chest and back. The body of the jacket fit very close to the body, but was not uncomfortable. The forearm portion of the sleeve was so tight it was uncomfortable. I exchanged the large for an extra large and the sleeves are more comfortable and the body not quite as snug. I don't like my outerwear to fit too close to the body and I intend to use this jacket as an outer garment. I'm pleased with the warmth, comfort and wind resistance of this jacket. I also wear it as a mid layer in very cold temperatures. All in all a great jacket that has become one of my favorites.

i like REI for their sizing. good for layering if needed. i wish they had more colors bc i would buy them. i own all colors available. its a great all around jacket and does the job. wait until its on sale and you'll like it even more! its a great staple for any body and goes everywhere you need to go. i really love the jacket. i love the hood which is small so its doesnt swim on your head and will keep you warm. i've gotten lots of compliments on it.
wish they stiched the REI logo on jacket versus some iron on. that looks cheap and this initial price is not cheap.
like i said: color choices too limited. its a winter/fall jacket. lets have black/ brown/tan colors . all solid of course. no mixing of colors.

Comments about REI Rauk Jacket - Men's:
I needed a nice technical windbreaker/hoodie while on a work related trip in Boise to wear while walking around. The Rauk fit the bill. It is comfortable, keeps me warm yet is breathable, and keeps the wind out. It's not waterproof but it seems to have a a water resistant coating on it as it was shedding light rain and snow for a little while. It has a stylish look, a small phone pocket on the upper left sleeve. The fit is comfortable, and the lower chest pockets have a thinsulate material to keep your hands warm.
