Comments about Topeak RaceRocket HPX Master Blaster Mini Pump:
The pump works great. The attachment mechanism works by screwing onto the valve and attaches consistently and well. As others have noted, this can cause a problem. On some presta tubes, the pump screws onto the valve fine, but then when it unscrews the top of the presta valve comes with it. This is a problem that is common to pumps with a screw-on mechanism. With the traditional attachment that doesn't screw on, it doesn't matter whether the valve is attached tightly - I never realized the presta valve unscrewed like that until I got a screw-on pump & had this happen. BUT, it is that very mechanism that is a big strength of the pump. I blame the tube manufacturers for the defect. There is no reason that the presta valve should be so easy to take apart in this way. It seems to vary by brand of tube, but I haven't paid close enough attention to be sure of that. It can be fixed easily with a little loctite, but it is irritating. Since I use screw on pumps for trail & garage, I now have a habit of testing the valve when I get them to see if the attachment is loose, and putting a little loctite on it before I put it with my bike gear. If that all seems like a hassle to you, don't get a pump that screws on - but those are the ones that work the best in every other way!

I had similar problems - first and only time I used it, broke off my valve, too. Taking back today.

Comments about Topeak RaceRocket HPX Master Blaster Mini Pump:
When this pump works it's great. The problem I had is about 50% of the time the pump will actually pull out the presta valves from my tubes. Then of course the valve is stuck in the pump. I tried loosening the connector but then I lose a lot of air when I'm pumping. I wasn't a fan of carrying needle-nose pliers for every time I got a flat (to use the pump) so I took it back.
