The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Novara Stinger 12'' Kids' Bike - 2013:
My son's first transition from a trike. He loves zipping around our neighborhood. It's heavy, which is both a pro and a con. He's thrashed it pretty hard, but it's built to take a beating.

Comments about Novara Stinger 12'' Kids' Bike - 2013:
My husband and I bought this bike when our son turned 4. By the time he was 4.5 he was able to ride the bike without training wheels. He never used a balance bike. I would save my $$ and go with a bike like this one rather than get a balance bike. Remember to get the bike fitted/measured by a bike specialist/sales person. I always see parents buying a bike for their kids that they can "grow into" but does not really teach your child anything if the bike is too big! This bike will also be used by our younger son when our oldest grows out of it. The seat is adjustable so we know we will get a lot of use out of it!

We bought this for our 3yr old son, who learned to ride a balance bike at age 2. We tried a few other bikes and he didn't like them... either too heavy, not easy to ride, ect. This bike was the ONLY one that he wanted to ride all over the store. It is very easy for him to pedel and he is very comfortable on the bike. Great 1st bike!!

Comments about Novara Stinger 12'' Kids' Bike - 2013:
My 4 year old learned how to ride on this bike (after riding on a balance bike for a couple years). However, this bike is not very rewarding. Overdone knobby tires, tight rear wheel / coaster brake assembly, and 20 lbs add up to be an unproductive combination. He has to peddle extremely hard to get this thing moving, and it shouldn't be that difficult. I am considering returning the bike, with hope we can find a lighter bike.

I picked up this bike for my 3 year old (his first "big boy" bike). He is very comfortable riding it (read stable). Great bright graphics for a child and an all around "fun" bike. This bike is well priced and a good value. Makes a great first bike for starting a child starting a life-long love of cycling.
