Comments about Yakima HighLite 3 Hitch Bike Rack:
I can install or remove this rack from my car in under 30 seconds and it is easy to carry in one hand with gear in the other. The built in cable lock is also a nice feature. Loading bikes (29er Mt bikes) is not the easiest since the brackets are so big but I can fit two on there with no problem. Have yet to put 3 on but it should not be a problem if you space the brackets out enough. The rubber straps take some effort to latch and do not have much stretch to them. Hopefully they will break in with more use. Once on the rack, the bikes and the rack seem very secure. I am happy with my purchase.

Comments about Yakima HighLite 3 Hitch Bike Rack:
The rack itself is well built and goes on easy. I mostly liked the construction and locking mechanism. The first issue is the mounting system. I have very standard road bikes, and they never quite fit in the plastic mounts properly (interference from cable guides, etc.) The rubber straps are VERY stiff and hard to use while the plastic on the mounts is very pliable. I always feel like I'm going to break it when putting a bike on.The second and largest issue is capacity. I can't get 2 bikes on it without removing a wheel, and there is no way I could get 3 bikes on there. The handle bars and seats interfere with each other. I'm not sure what type of bike this was designed for, but it doesn't work with my road bikes at all.

Comments about Yakima HighLite 3 Hitch Bike Rack:
Wow. So light. Not featherweight, but so much lighter than our original Yakima with similar features. I have no problem taking it off the car when needed. Not that I really need to. With the flick of a latch the arms fold up or down and with the lift of a knob, the rack tilts out of the way so I can load stuff in the back of the sportwagen (groceries, dogs, etc). Our old Yakima used a pin system which could be extremely stubborn. The upright was also heavy and hard to maneuver. This is a nice, light, three bike carrier and the arms and upright move like silk. So far it seems pretty stable, too. It even comes with ties to keep the bike wheels from rubbing during travel. My only concern is that the arm release latch is plastic. I could see that wearing over time. The previous metal pin system, while a pain in the tuckus, was very hefty. Only time will tell if this rack is as hefty and long lasting as its older cousin.
