Just purchased but I was surprised that it did not have any cleaning or washing instructions. Can it be washed?Also found some loosed threads.I will end ordering a Tilley and returning this one...For [$] it looks not good enough (I can buy to Lee jeans for that money).

I've owned three of these hats. They look great, and I can wear them on my way to the office or around town, in addition for serious hiking. I lost my first one, and I now have one that I use for hiking (which gets sweaty and is beginning to show its age from salt stains) and one for around town. The cape is great. size L fits 7-1/2 or so, and XL is closer to a size 8.

Fabric provides sunblock. Vented mesh allows good airflow. Sunshield can be rolled up into the hat brim. Purchased on end-of-season markdown, it was a good buy for tropical weather hiking.
