The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Ruffwear Bark'n Boots Grip Trex Dog Boots - Set of 4:
I bought these boots in hopes of being able to use them occasionally when hiking over rocky terrain that could injure my German Sheppard's paws. I used them @ 6 miles out of the 16 mile backpacking trip on a difficult rated trail. The boots stayed on and I used a base layer to try and minimize chaffing from the boots but still experience some chaffing where the top of boot contacts the dog.
Main problem with the boots I purchased is that the stitching and the thread used doesn't appear to be up to the task. One boot the stitching has let loose across the whole side of the boot. On the other boots the Vibram soles have started to peel away from the boot and also more of the stitching is starting to let go. All this after only one backpacking trip.

Comments about Ruffwear Bark'n Boots Grip Trex Dog Boots - Set of 4:
We bought these in hopes of helping our dog on our three day hike in the Sierras. We are very disappointed, especially given the cost. First, the shoes don't fit well--they don't seem to stay on the foot, even with the velcro on tight. It seems like something is wrong in the design of the shoe--they are too low to stay on well, especially on the rear paws. The ankle-length and velcro seems restrictive. At the same time, the shoes don't even stay on. We had to monitor him constantly to make sure he didn't lose them. Several times, we had to backtrack on the trail to find a lost bootie. Next, our dog got sore, raw spots from the shoes chaffing the tops of his front paws. Not cool! These shoes were supposed to protect his paws, not cause more damage! and the shoes kept coming off. Lastly, dirt and grit kept getting into the shoes, even with the velcro on tight. We can to stop all the time to take off the shoes and get out the dirt and grit. It was more work than we expected. We do not recommend these shoes at all.

My Great Dane had and regularly used an older version of these boots. When they needed to be replaced, I purchased the largerst size available, thinking they would be comparable to his old boots. The new boots are way smaller than the old boots, and although they fit ok width wise, they are too short to stay on. The boots never stayed on more than 5 minutes, no matter how tightly I put them on. Very disappointed about the new sizing, will have to return.

Comments about Ruffwear Bark'n Boots Grip Trex Dog Boots - Set of 4:
My husband and I bought these boots for our husky because she was wearing down her nails past the quick when she was running next to my husband's bike, causing them to bleed. We used them walking her in the beginning, but they kept turning on her feet whenever she walked awkwardly (which is all the time with these things on). However, when she is running, she totally forgets about the boots and they don't turn. So highly recommended for running, not so much for slower hikes. Also, it does cause dogs with lots of hair to sweat a good amount, so not highly recommended in the summertime without considering fluid intake.

Our Boxer loves her shoes. We use them for walking in the hot summers to keep her feet from burning as well as hiking. They stay on and don't seem to cause her any problems. She seems to have a lot of mobility in them. I thought they would be stiff but they weren't. I haven't had to put socks on her. Great shoes for a dog.

Purchased these in hopes of saving the pads on my dogs feet while bird hunting. Which they did, but they do not stay on well so she loses them frequently, they rub her raw in multiple locations and they wore out after only a few days of hunting. Good idea, but I say they aren't worth the headache as they caused more problems than they solved. Also tried these in tandem with the matching socks, but those don't stay on either they just ball up in the toe of the boot.

These are excellent boots for dayhikes, backpacking or just walking around town. I had no problem getting my 1 year old boxer to wear them although it did take a little getting used to.

I only rate this product at 4 stars because of the price. These boots have saved our new carpet from the muddy foothills of Tennessee where clay rules the land. It took my German Shepherd several days to get accustomed to the boots. He started to walk really funny with them on, it was hilarious. After he got used to them, he started walking like normal again. We primarily used them for trail running and letting him play outside. We have a lot of mud out here and these things rock. The boots stay on and they cake all the mud on the bottom of the shoes. We used to have a bucket of water at the back door that we used to clean his paws every time he went outside. Now we just put his boots on and take them off before he comes inside.

We live in Minnesota where the winters are brutal. Freezing temps make even the paw pads of the most thick-haired dog burn and become frostbitten. Elvis, our Aussiedoodle, loves the snow and outdoors, but could only stay outside for short periods when the temps drop below freezing. These boots are the answer to making cold temps more comfortable. Best of all--they are easy to get on and they STAY ON! Just got them today and immediately went out on our lake in -3 weather. Elvis was running like a kid with new shoes and we stayed out for 30 minutes. He didn't want to come in, but his human was getting cold:( Money well spent!!

I have a 14 year old border collie with geriatric vestibular syndrome. I got these because he is having difficulty recovering his balance to the point where he can stand up in the house on our wood floors. For that purpose, they are great and far better than the ones from the pet store. He can stand and walk around on his own without falling down. However, they are always spinning around backwards, and the velcro strap goes across right at dew claw level. One dew claw has been irritated to the point of bleeding. So socks are mandatory with these, not optional. I'm using baby socks from Target, but I may look at replacing them with Thera Paws. They'll be about $100 for a set but they are designed for continuous use on injured paws. I would recommend them for occasional use and for constant use with socks but I think the only real way to avoid the spinny problem is to have a bootie that goes further up the leg.
