I use this bag every day to bring my lunch to work with me. I commute on the train and carry the bag attached to my backpack for my walk from the train to the office and back. This bag has held up flawlessly, looking at it you can tell its well built. I have had others from the supermarket and a Columbia bag there were cheaply made and within a month or two were starting to fall apart ir were already ruined. This bag is going on 6 months of every day use and its like new. The price is good too.

I don't use this as a lunch bag all that often - my use is for when I go to Broncos games (of course, got the bag in blue). It sickens me to even purchase water to begin with and of course pro sports stadiums sell their water from $3.50 and up. This is a nice tall bag that easily holds two 20 oz. bottles or three 17 oz. Platypus bottles with a couple of the smaller blue ice blocks (I was lucky to find football themed blue ice that have a curve to cradle the bottles nicely and maximize space). I also like the very secure velcro tab in the center and the ability to roll the top down and clip it so it really retains the cold quite well.

I would agree witih a couple of other reviewers who said that it doesn't easily hold plastic food storage containers, but for bottles, yogurt, fruit and similar small products it's great. If you want a bag to hold the plasic storage containers go with the REI lunch cooler. I don't have one myself, but have seen it at the store and it will easily accommodate those types of containers.

Depending on your main use of the bag it could be great (as in my case) or so-so. Highly recommended for beverages, maybe not so much for an everyday lunch bag.

Comments about REI Lunch Bag:

I was looking online this school year for a good lunch box. Many bought at stores fall apart easily. This lunch box is very good for the value ([$]), waterproof, and the fact that it folds up is a nice feature. It is a little narrow for many tupperware, so compare measurements before buying. Overall, this is the best purchase we have made in terms of lunch boxes, and it has certaintly met all the quality standards that one would expect from an REI product.

Service and delivery comments:

The delivery took 3-4 business days. It arrived in good condition. The estimated arrival date given at the beginning of purchase was accurate.

Overall it's a good bag and it keeps food cold but the biggest problem for me was when I wanted to use normal sized Tupperware. I would end up having to carry the bag sideways to ensure my food did not leak.
