by fromhmmm back to the drawing board I received this as a gift and the description of features all sounded great , but after heaving all ten pounds of this beast of a chair out of the box and setting it up, I immediatly realized that the designers tried to do too many things with this one. The reclining function requires much wiggling and fussing with buttons as the moving parts tend to bind up and lock. It's difficult to say if this would get better as parts "wear in" or worse as materials flex and change shape over time. That's not a big deal, but definately not "slick". The biggest issue (and the reason I'm returning the chair) is that the reclining function requires extra fabric in both the arm and the seat to accomodate the "travel" as the points of the frame get further apart when moved into the reclined positions. The problem is; when the chair is NOT in the reclined position, the whole assembly goes floppy. There is no support in the seat and you end up slouching into a hole with the frame poles cutting across the backs of your thighs. They clearly attempted to address this issue by adding straps to arm rests, but instead of actually tensioning the arm rests it just raises the back portion toward your shoulders. It's a shame the design is so unsuccessful, because the build quality is apparently quite sturdy, and it looks fairly snappy.

by fromNot so comfortable or reliable If you want a reliable camping chair make sure to forget about this chair immediately. I had two of these and both broke in the same spots. The bottom of the chairs feet break which are holding the cross arms together. The chair is comfortable until it breaks. Good Luck!

by fromcomfortable chair short life span This is a comfortable chair, it would be well worth the money if it did not fall apart so fast. The first one broke after only @ 30 uses and the second held up for maybe another 20. If you want a well made product that will stand the test of time stay away from this chair.

by fromuncomfortable behind knees I sat in this chair in the store yesterday....along with about 6 others. This one was so bad, I just had to write a review on it. It was very uncomfortable. It seems like the seat is too deep. When you sit in it, your behind sinks so far down in the chair, it gives the feeling that your knees are going up in the process, and this is causes it to press on the backside of my thighs and knees. Maybe its because I'm on the short side (5'4")?? But I imagine a tall person would sink just as much.

by fromUnless you are 6' 1 don't buy Last week I went online line to purchase a good outdoor chair. I came across these at a great price or so I thought. There were 3 reviews written about this chair 1 good 2 bad so I decided to call up and get more info. The person I spoke with was familiar with the chairs and even said she had two and loved them. I purchased them; they arrived, and was very unhappy. The chair is designed in a way that when you sit down your tail end is much lower than your legs. Because of this the fabric digs into the back of your thighs. Then getting out of the chair is not easy at all. I brought it to work and had 6 of my staff sit in it. Only one thought it was somewhat comfortable, but he is 6' 3". Since purchasing this chair there has been another negative comment for the same reason. Why is REI selling this chair even at a good discount? I will be driving to the nearest store to return.

by fromRecliner? Yes. Comfort? Not at all! My husband and I purchased two of these to take on car camping trips. They seemed fine in the store, but after about 45 minutes around a campfire in them we were both uncomfortable, sore, and complaining about feeling like our circulation had been cut off at the knee. He and I are both quite tall, but the seat is just far to big/deep. The cup holder is oddly shaped and a drink could easily fall over, despite the option to adjust it with a drawstring. After only two days one of the levers used to adjust the recline function wasn't working properly, so we returned both chairs.

by fromNot impressed We bought 2 just a few weeks ago and this weekend we took them camping. In under 4 days of use and on one of them the hard plastic is beginning to crack around the metal poles in the front. It's the piece that the fabric is connected to. I'm going to be contacted REI. They're fairly comfortable, but getting out of them is a bit of a bear.

by fromGreat Chair for the Great Outdoors I have had portable chairs that I have owned, but this one is the most comfortable. Given that we were able to try it out for certain period of time because of the 100% guarantee with REI members to return or exchange the product, I have found that this chair is worth the money paid. I would recommend this to anyone. I have used this Tailgating at Qualcomm to Lounging on my patio. Excellent Buy
