This is the best footwear I have ever bought. It took 2 days to break them in and I walked in excess of 2-3 miles a day with no problems. The REI staff in VA was the best. They recommended the best hiker and socks. I love this store and the staff. I also purchase a rain jacket for my trip and stayed warm and dry both body and feet. Rei is the best.

Like other reviewers, my pair began to fray at the side seams the first day of significant use (long day hike). Too bad -- they're comfy, low profile, lightweight -- but they don't look like they're going to last. Obiviously a design flaw the Teva will hopefully correct on future models. I'm gonna have to return these.

These boots are so good, I am writing a review for the first time in my life. I took them out of the box and then went for a 5 hour hike along The Walk of the Gods carrying a light pack. They were stable, comfortable, and surprising light. I have put these boots through a whole lot in the past 7 months and despite lots of long vertical climbs and descents and hours of walk down rocky paths or hours walking through city streets - my feet are always ready to go. I have gotten so much use out of these boots, that I am buying a second pair... just to have them in case this pair wears out.

I've been backpacking in these around the trails near home and I've been happy so far. Crossing small streams were fine. Waterproof and dries quick on outside. Pretty light for hiking shoes. The traction is good. It's still pretty new so I haven't had the stitching problems that others talk about. I like them so much that I'm going to buy another pair for future use.

I have been using these as my primary shoes for 3 months now, and have done a lot of rocky trails. I have not had the stitching problem. The upper side mesh has gotten abrasions, but no worse than the other light hikers I have had--nature of the shoe and a trade off for light weight. My heavy hikers (Asolo) even though all leather, have gotten pretty well abraded through the toe in one year of use, so I am a stumble toe kind of guy I guess, and hard on shoes. They fit me, you will only know if they fit you when you try them on.

These Tevas are pretty much amazing. Since I bought them a year ago I have been through several overnighters in the rocky mountains, a 40 mile trek through the lost creek wilderness in 4 days. Most recently we received a foot of snow so i took out the old snowshoes and strapped my waterproof tevas into them with OR gators, Bomb proof boots is the bottom of the line and comfortable right out of the box. I will be recommending them as well as getting another pair for myself.

Apparently this side stitching issue is not isolated to one pair of shoes. I had the same issue after only wearing them a handful of times around town. I can't imagine what shape they would be in after several hikes...It's a shame because they were very comfortable, had a narrow fit, and were great looking. Teva needs to get on this... [$] for a pair of shoes should get you better quality.
