i sure hope i can return or exchange this. i did like the instruction said and it worked fine. i changed the old batteries for new ones right after i got it working, then nothing. i put the old batteries back in and still nothing, so i put the old light back in and it worked. i tested the bulb with a multi meter and sure enough it was bad.

I've had a number of mini mag AA flashlights lying around the house and thought I would try the Nite Ize upgrade. I was skeptical at first, but the upgrade is stunning. I fished out two old AA batteries from my recycling box and put them into the mini mag with the standard bulb. I got a dim glow, barely able to illuminate anything. I swapped in the LED bulb and with the same batteries the light was too bright to look at directly. What these LED blubs are able to do with so little power is amazing. You do lose any real ability to focus the light, but for me the output and long battery life more than makes up for this. I'm guessing mini mag is kicking themselves for not coming up with this first. Great upgrade!
