Comments about Big Agnes King Creek 6 Tent:
Overall this seems to be a great tent. I've set it up twice and it seems to be made from quality material (minus the stakes). The 2 cons I give this tent are: 1. the stakes bend really easily in hard packed ground and 2. the fly has a sleeve instead of clips for the pole. I personally don't like the inconvenience of this; it almost requires 2 people to set up. We love the dog-run style vestibule. For TX this tent will probably suffice through the winter.
Overall; for the money I'd like to see the loft and better quality stakes included with the tent.
You can't close the tent entirely up; the top doesn't have an option to bypass the mesh. No tents these days seem to have that option in the Nylon... canvas tents have that for the same price range but are much heavier. That's an industry-wide weakness I suppose.
Happy with the purchase. It's the best option out there for the style/duration/frequency of camping we do as a family. It sets up and tears down quick, is easy to pack, takes up a small amount of space, and is lightweight.
I'll write another review of this tent after a year of camping.... we'll see how it lasts.

Comments about Big Agnes King Creek 6 Tent:
So I've owned the BAKC6 for about 2 hours now. Upon arriving home, I immediately set it up. I did so reading the directions and by myself in under 20 mins. Having done it once, I'm guessing I could do it in under 15 mins including the footprint. The tent is much lighter than I expected (good thing), so I was easily able to set it up without help. The Vestibule is HUGE - two people could easily set up chairs and still have room for gear. I do question the space inside once 6 people have laid out their bags. It appears to be more like a 4 person plus some room for a bit of gear. It also came down quickly and easily, fitting back into its bag in under 10 mins. I did bend one stake and frankly, they are not much stronger than my backing (north face) tent stakes. The zippers did tend to catch the zip cover, but were easily freed each time. So far, I am impressed with my purchase.
I will be taking it camping in two weeks and write more after it is put to the test by a wife and two young kids.

Comments about Big Agnes King Creek 6 Tent:
As promised, here is my follow up after our first camping trip with 2 young boys and my bride. Setting: state park, small camp sites, basically unload car and set up camp. Weather: sunny, cool. Performance: The tent went up quick with only one person. The fly is fantastic. The fly garage holds a ridiculous amount of gear. At one point the kids moved all four chairs under the fly and there was still room for gear. The room inside the tent proved enough for four, but I think six would be very crowed. The tent and the fly held up very well. We experienced one small tear on a tent wall due to my two-year old grabbing the pocket and using it to sit up from a prone position. This was totally a user error and doesn't reflect on the quality of the tent. The fly kept the morning dew off of the tent and out of the garage. The fly also dried very quickly in the sun. The tent went back into the bag easily, as did the fly. A few of the stakes bent when pounded into the ground and I consider them too weak. My guess is that they won't last. Overall, this is a great tent and I am thrilled with our purchase. As we use it more in different conditions, I will post more.

Took this on a road trip out to the Grand Canyon and it was a perfect car camp tent. Very roomy fit four guys and completely waterproof. The reflective guyline helped one confused soul make it back to camp after going on a wood run.

Comments about Big Agnes King Creek 6 Tent:
Our family of 5 has used it thrice so far; car camping, back yard, and canoe camping. The tent has performed excellent; simple to set up, even by myself (thought the long poles require a bit of managing), excellent roominess, and we've rechristened the vestibule as the "VASTibule" (Note to Big Agnes: We'd gladly allow use of this term in exchange for a footprint or even a gear loft!) This vast space and double doors is really excellent, allowing dry gear, pet, and people storage even as you go in and out during a rain event. It does require a pretty good sized tent spot, but the 2 vestibule doors makes it easier. The 8 interior organization pockets are quite handy as well. Can't comment on the durability yet, but it seems well-made and solid. We had rain twice, and stayed perfectly dry.

Comments about Big Agnes King Creek 6 Tent:
We like to go camping as a family during the summer. There are four of us, two are small children. There is plenty of room on the inside with my wife an I each with an inflatable mattress and the two kids lie on the floor in their sleeping bags. We made in through several rainstorms and heavy winds at the Philadelphia Folk Fest. Many other tents and canopies in the area were flooded and blown away, but inside our tent we were completely dry. What is great about this tent is that the rainfly provides a roomy garage area where you can stuff much of your equipment, chairs and other items to keep them dry. Also the poles are made of aluminum and not as likely to bend as fiberglass. This is a great choice for a family tent.

Comments about Big Agnes King Creek 6 Tent:
My wife and I originally purchased the Big Agnes Pine Island 4, which by the way is a great tent, but just a bit too small for the two of us plus two dogs. We got this one on sale at REI for a great price.
Used on 5 camping trips this summer in Wisconsin and Washington State.. After several setup and take-downs, this is what I have to say about this tent: The base of the tent is super easy to setup, but due to the size of the poles will probably require two people to set up. The vestibule has a sleeve where you insert the rainfly pole through which is kind of a pain. I wish it used a different fastening system for that pole, it is a huge pain to setup the front vestibule, good luck with only one person.
This tent packs away very nicely in a briefcase style carrying case and takes up very little room when stored. On our last camping trip we had two nights of severe thunderstorms with several inches of rain and hail. We stayed perfectly dry, not a drop of water on the inside, despite the fact that we could feel the ground shake from the thunder (yeah it was a big storm)
I would give this tent 5 stars if it were not for the front vestibule being a pain to set up.
