The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Merrell Moab Waterproof Hiking Shoes - Women's:
I tried on many hiking shoes and cross trainers in the REI store near me, and I liked these the best. I wanted a comfortable, lightweight, waterproof shoe, to wear year round. Compared to other shoes I tried, I liked the comfort -- these feel just like my running sneakers, not like stiff hiking shoes. I like that they are lightweight and breathable, but still have great technical features, like Vibram soles, good traction, waterproof, etc. They will be perfect for my uses: light hiking on trails, walking the dog on trails and around the neighborhood, and nature hikes with the kids. They should work well for tromping through mud, streams, and wet grass, and have good traction for safety. Added plus is nice color: a grayish / pewter color with light blue trim. My only caveat is I had to buy a half size larger than my usual size: Merrell shoes seem to run about a half size small on me. Luckily I was in the store, so I was able to try on sizes to see what fit.

Comments about Merrell Moab Waterproof Hiking Shoes - Women's:
Really disappointed in these shoes. I bought them for summer hiking, with water resistance being a bonus since I'm often near water. I wore them around town before hiking to be sure the fit was good before being out on the trail. Around town they felt comfortable, so hiking I went. On the trail they were okay on flat dirt trails. When conditions became rocky, the traction was lacking and I found myself slipping more than was comfortable. Worse was after mile 5 I felt every rock under foot. Coming down the summit, the toe box proved far too small, and I had to readjust my foot in the shoe every step to keep my toes from jamming into the front of the shoe.A positive note is I did step in a lake to get something from my kayak before remembering I had on the 'wrong' shoes on. My foot and sock stayed dry, and the shoe really never felt wet. Overall, I'm going back to my Keen boots. I feel secure and comfortable in them. I slip less and my toes have room to move no matter the terrain. It'll be my first ever REI return. Too bad too since they performed fine around town. Thing is, I actually wanted to hike in them.

I did a ton of research & tried on many different shoes before I bought these. I really do like them & they're very cute. However, even though they are not narrow they seem to rub on the sides of both of my big toes. If I would have known this of course I would not have purchased them. However, I hope they will still break in.
I will use these shoes to do trail hikes and walks.

I love the shoes. Their are everything I wanted and I wear them all the time. I wear them for work mostly, but on the weekends if I go for a walk. One of the things I don't like are the shoestrings. They come untied too much and too often.
Thank you

Comments about Merrell Moab Waterproof Hiking Shoes - Women's:
When I first tried these on at the store I was looking for a good looking shoe that I could wear for taking my dog on early morning hikes in the woods and then wear to work where I need a shoe that is comfortable, durable and doesn't look like "a sneaker". Well, these look a bit like a sneaker but are slightly nicer. I put in a lot of hours in my shoes; hiking and going between exam rooms at work, so at first I was worried about these ones- in the store they felt great but after 30 minutes in the woods hiking with my dog the tongue started to rub on the top of my ankle, they felt a bit stiff too. I wore slightly thicker socks for a bit and soon enough they got pretty broken in- to the point where I'm considering getting a second pair because I know these won't last forever. True to my size 9, and good toe space without looking as wide as a Keen. (My other prefered hiking/work shoe brand).--- I didn't realize these were supposed to be water proof- I'd call them water resistant in the pacific northwest. And yes- I'd say light hiking, not heavy gravel or stones, they are not that stiff and the sole doesn't seem that thick. I'd stick to my Merrel hiking boots for serious trails and hill descents.

Comments about Merrell Moab Waterproof Hiking Shoes - Women's:
I have narrow feet and also have no arch, so it was really hard to find a pair of hiking boots that fit me right. I seriously tried on about 10 pairs of hiking boots at 2 local REI stores and LL Bean mail order and found this Merrell to be the best one for me. All the other ones felt too big (even if I laced them up really tight, there was still too much room in the shoes). But going down a size was not an option, because I am a true size 9, and 8 1/2 was too small length wise. I was SO excited to find these shoes!! When I tried them on at the store, it felt a little small, so I tried them with thinner socks. I am very glad I did not size up, because after a few wears, I am now wearing them with thick hiking socks. They do loosen up/break in a bit.
I have gone on several day hikes in these and I am very happy with them. I feel like they give me good traction, they are very comfortable, and best of all, no blisters! Love them!!

These have been great for me to hike in. Much better traction than my walking shoes! They are more comfortable during the moderate hikes as well.

Comments about Merrell Moab Waterproof Hiking Shoes - Women's:
I have wide feet and have a terrible time finding shoes that fit me. These fit like a glove, and are truly waterproof. At last I am comfortable walking in cold, wet weather! I'm looking forward to hiking in these shoes too. They felt a little stiff at first, but now are just right, and they're quite light. The laces are slippery and short, so I have to put the second loop through the knot twice to hold it, and then there's no problem.

Comments about Merrell Moab Waterproof Hiking Shoes - Women's:
i own a dog walking business and bought these this season because my keens had worn out. the keens i have purchased the past few years were unavailable. i believe they had changed the model and i didn't quite like the new options. i decided to go with these as they felt comfortable in the store and felt sturdy enough to make it through the long rainy season up here in pdx. i purchased these in october and, surprisingly, we have not had much rain...until today. i've worn these everyday since i've purchased them and while i can't say they are the best shoe i've had, they weren't bad and worked well for days full of literally pounding the pavement. it's been about three months since purchase and today was a true pacific northwest rainy day. i hadn't even finished with my first dog walk of the day and my left foot was soaked. the right shoe didn't take long to catch up. i had to spend the entire day with wet socks and shoes. i've NEVER had that problem with the keens. sorry, merrell, you let me down BIG TIME. to add insult to injury, as i took them off at the end of my day, i noticed they even say, "waterproof" on the side of the shoe. i think merrell needs to market these as water resistent or re-design the shoe.
other qualms were that they were a little narrow for my liking (i like to wiggle my toes) and the sole design tend to collect small stones.
i would not recommend this shoe if your need you feet to stay dry.
