I previously reviewed this product and gave it five stars. After using it for a summer, I would like to revisit that review and say that I agree with the other reviewers that there is something not right with the material/fit of these bibs. They are okay, just not worth the price. Not a total bust, but I expect better from PI.

[...] remarked that this was largely due to the fact that the chamois folded in half down the center. This turns out to be the downfall of these shorts. I'm 6'1", with a 32" inseam, so I get all my height in the torso. With these shorts, I find that center crease rides up between my "boys". Very uncomfortable!! Also not very flattering in public. I've got two other pairs of PI Elite Bib shorts from '10 and '09 that fit me perfectly. All size large.

This is the first thing from Pearl Izumi that I would never buy again. As usual, from a materials standpoint, it's solid. In this case however, the construction leaves much to be desired, the seams are bunchy and don't lie flat. I much prefer my old P.I. shorts. If I hadn't washed and worn them already, they'd be in the mail as a return.

The fit on these is a bit different than the regular Elites. The material or the cut of the "In-R-Cool" fabric isn't as tight as on the regular Elites. Because of the difference, there doesn't seem to be the same compression as on the regular Elites. These bunch/wrinkle a bit. Length, waist, etc. all are the same, but the leg material seems looser than on the regulars.

Maybe this will change with a few washings, but I have a fairly new pair of regular Elites from 2010 and they provide much better leg compression than these new In-R-Cool ones.

Basic quality is good--fit and finish, etc.

I kinda expected a high performance product , but these are cheapies not worth [$]. At first the fit felt ok , but like the other reviews I experienced bunching and major discomfort.Surprised ,expected more from Pearl.

Owned a pair of the PI Elite shorts and then got the bibs. Very comfortable first ride out. Bought a second pair. They are great. I understand the other reviewers comment, however would add that if you also own European cut bibs, that fit way more snugly, these might feel not as "compressive", which, by the way, has been proved not to add to performance. I like mine just fine as they are...comfortable.
