Comments about Westcomb Specter LT Hoodie Jacket - Men's:
Great jacket. Probably don't even need to say more.. but I will.
A Canadian gem, rare that you find an outdoor product made in North America and the build quality shows. Seams are excellent, no thread runs or bumps/folds under seam taping (which is well done, I should add). Simple design, solid front zipper that wears well, two waterresist type zippers for the pockets. Some have faulted this jacket for too few pockets - I differ on that, put the extra stuff in your pack, that's why you have it on your back. Packs down well, lining laminate holds up nicely. Overall, much nicer than many higher priced offerings.

Comments about Westcomb Specter LT Hoodie Jacket - Men's:
I have owned this rain jacket for two years. I backpack year around in the wet Olympic Mountains in Washington State. This jacket does a great job at helping to maintain warmth by acting as a windbreaker over my down layer during winter camping.
All other seasons the jacket has performed exceptionally well in shedding rain. The pit zips are plenty large to help control body temperature/sweating during hiking.
The hood has two separate strategically located draw bungies to pull it back so it is not draping too far forward and limiting your vision.
The pockets are an adequate size. The zipper action is smooth and tight. The jacket is lightweight but the material seems thick so it does not roll up into a tiny bundle as would a lesser expensive and cheaper quality jacket/poncho does. I don't see that as a con though as it still stows compactly in my backpack.

Comments about Westcomb Specter LT Hoodie Jacket - Men's:
I've only had it a day. I thought I would post the first review without much experience with it. I wore it for a walk in the rain, but I didn't get a chance to work up a sweat.
It fits quite well. The material feels nice. The helmet hood adjusted ok, and I didn't have any trouble with the waterproof zipper. (I can see how if you aren't mindful about zipping, it could be a problem.) I can see it as a critical part of a minimalist pack.
It only has the two outside pockets, plus a tiny inside pocket. The pockets are high, it's not feasible to rest your hands in them while walking.
This trial is part of my ongoing search for a new high-end eVent rain jacket. Each time REI has a 20% off coupon, I order another expensive jacket that they don't stock so I can try it on and out. I can go into the store to try the Shuksan jacket, but not the Westcomb jackets. Since the pockets were problematical on this one, I will try the Cruiser with the next coupon.
