The MSR Fast Stash is the next generation of cutting-edge ultralight shelters. This quick-deploy shelter comfortably sleeps 2 adults with room inside for large packs or canine companions.

Fast Stash is a modified A-frame single-wall, floored tarp shelter that provides protection from wind, rain, cool temperatures and insects
Includes poles for easy setup; or set it up with your trekking poles (sold separately) or by stringing it up from trees if you desire greater weight efficiency
Large mesh door and side mesh panels provide exceptional ventilation and views
Front door panel can be opened or closed for the appropriate balance between warmth and ventilation; mesh strip above the door allows constant air movement throughout the tent
Wide front awning and wings over side mesh panels add external coverage; wings can be partially closed or pulled back completely for maximum airflow
Even in the worst rainstorms the wings provide complete coverage while still allowing generous ventilation; they also serve as wind deflectors and add structural sturdiness
With the front window opened and the side wings rolled back, you have nearly 180° of unobstructed views
Fast Stash is designed for campers to sleep towards the door, leaving a protected space to store backpacks; this also serves to push out rear panel to maximize interior area

Hang damp clothes on the interior hang loops; unique plastic hook centered on the ridgeline holds a headlamp for interior lighting

I love the space in this big boxy tent. You could almost kneel in it. Sitting, my raised hand would touch the ceiling with the elbow almost straight. And you have much more headroom than over just a few square feet of floorspace. the ventilation: decent, and I saw little condensation. You could almost squeeze another person in here, but you wouldn't want to put Rover out in the rain, eh?

Setup is easy, but it still takes me about 6-10 minutes, maybe b/c I'm slow, maybe b/c you have to drive 9 stakes. Two people with trekking poles could leave the heavy included poles behind, using two trekkers for the front and one to hold out the back wall.

Of note, I received my FS from MSR after returning a nearly identical Missing Link because the fabric coating went gooey-sticky. Noticed on a rain free outing,so unknown if a recurrence during a rainstorm would endanger us. Unsure of the coating in the FS, but I know that MSR will stand behind their product.

Pros.... Lightweight and takes us less space than most any other tent. If you use trekking polls.... this is the one. The previous model was called "The Missing Link" this is an improved version. I intended it to be one step up from a tarp. Mostly for long backpacking trips in good weather..... but it was able to replace my regular tent which I gave away after using this tent a couple times.

Cons…. $$$$!!!! But when weight counts it's worth it. Be sure to set it up at home because the setup is counter intuitive and I needed some extra rope.

Took tent backpacking. Love the design. Easy to set up, just 2 poles, some tie downs and your good. Started misting but stayed completely dry all night. More than enough room for 2 to comfortable sleep in. Nothing but great things from this tent.

I have not used the tent in the field, yet. Set up in my living room was easy and the tent is certainly roomy. However: When I ordered the tent I was pretty sure the weight in the product description was a typo at 2 lb 4 oz minimal weight, but I would have been happy had the weight been 2 lb 14 oz as advertised by MSR. However, at 3 lb 4 oz on one postal scale and 3 lb 6 oz on another, bare-bones, the tent is not as ultralight as I hoped and paid for. I will likely return the tent unused.

Went out with a buddy who insisted we take this tent with us. Yes it is light, but it was cumbersome to set up and collected condensation like nothing I have ever slept in. For me, if shelter from weather is a concern, it isn't worth the trade in weight.
