So much better than NOT havnig one!

I went a while without the foot print for my hubba hubba and the bottom got dirty and wet all the time. This footprint is SUPER easy to use with the existing hubba hubba hardware, durable, and keeps both water and dirt off of my tent. I recently rain camped for two straight days and there was a huge difference between using and not using the footprint. It folds easily if you don't want it to get wrinkled but it also stuffs just as well into the tent sack. My biggest concern before I purchased this was the possibility that it would make a noise when I rolled around the inside of the tent. Not a problem at all, didn't hear a thing. AND you don't have to stake it down because it snaps in from the poles on the tent.

Great groundcover, compact, lightweight

Perfect ground cover for backpacking, either under tent or without tent. Right sized for my 6 ft. 180 lb. frame. Very packable and light. By itself, though, it will not keep you dry in a side-wind with heavy rain, as I experienced for 3 torrential nights on the JMT in July'13. Two of these as a pup tent, plus end cover and ground cloth might keep you dry, but would weigh more than an ultralight tent. In summary, a terrific product which I'll carry again and again.

You HAVE to get the footprint!!

If you have the Hubba Hubba, you have to get this footprint. The biggest advantage is you can set up the footprint and fly only! You can ditch the entire inner tent and be minimal. Cuts the weight of the huge tent down to just what a single backpacker needs. Love it!!

Nothing bad to say

This not being a technical piece i wasn't expecting it to change my life but it does what its supposed to very well. Its water proof and very light, there was a bit of slop when fitted itto the tent but nothing that I will fell or change my experience. I was worried that in heavy wind it would somehow wiggle its way loose and fly away when nobody was in the tent, but this was remedied by sandwiching the eyelets between the tent and fly eyelets. it keeps the light weight theme of the hubba hubba, after packing it up and adding it to the stuff sack it changes the packed dimensions very little and after weighing it brings the tent up to about an even 4 pounds (still very impressive).

Perfect Fit, but should've come with the tent.

I really do not understand what such an amazing and well thought out tent doesn't come with this, but whatever. Its a perfect fit and a must have, so bite the bullet to protect your HH.

Unfortunately Necessary

I don't understand why tents don't include the footprint. The bottoms of lightweight backpacking tents are very thin, so to protect them, you need a footprint. This footprint cost $50. I've only used it a couple times so far, but it actually seems slightly large for my tent, which may be because this is for the Hubba Hubba "NX" while I bought the regular Hubba Hubba years ago.

Need to have it.

Like all msr products, the footprint for the NX is simple and easy to carry and use. My only complaint is that the footprint isn't included with the tent. Why ????????? It is needed to protect the tent for long life so just include it. Anyway, if you get the NX, GET THE FOOTPRINT, it protects the tent and it is cheaper to replace the footprint than the whole tent.

Couldn't match the durability or weight of MSR foot print

I tried to make a tyvex and plastic sheet, (each super thin with light spry adhesive to bond them) and couldn't match the light weight and durability combination of this foot print. I will still use the tyvex for a porch or gear tarp when car camping, but the foot print is the mate for this tent. couldn't reinvent a better wheel on this one

A must have to get the tent last longer

As the Hubba Hubba NX is a very lightweight tent, even the top quality material used remain fragile. I used this footprint when weight isn't a problem. It suits perfectly to the tent, I would have appreciate if it has covered the extension areas on teh side of the tent, to keep the luggages on a clean floor.

Perfect to keep tent life long

I think even with the extra weight, it's worth it to keep your tent going for a long life. I have a hubba hubba nx, and while it super light, I often am in rocky areas and so it gives me comfort knowing my tent will last longer and also be more protected during rain.
