Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
First time I set this up in the backyard I did it with one hand. Not intentionally... I was eating a burrito. Yum! Not as yummy as the light weight compact tent though. I pack the poles on the outside of my pack and compress the fly and inner. Tiny! Light weight and ready to shelter me anywhere. Sweetness.

Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
A fantastic lightweight option.
Great for lightweight travel.
I have used the Hubba a lot in "3 season" conditions - above 1200m, windy, potential for snow, lots of rain - tent performed very well. Also this tent excells in lightweight trips where really bad weather is unlikely.
Pros - Easy to setup, lightweight, footprint (extra purchase) fits inside supplied stuff sack. - All great. I find it actually quite roomy for the weight and intended use, and I am 6ft tall. You can sit up in it comfortably (double thumbs up). If you are going light you will find the vestibule adequate but not huge.
Cons - The tent has a lot of mesh - consider carefully if you intend on using it in winter or in cool conditions, it is quite breezy.
NOT supplied with any guy lines - you have to purchase these yourself afterwards. Or pegs for the 3 guy lines. In a small tent guy lines are essential for proper ventilation, waterproofing (guy attachments are sewn in on each end, so obviously MSR want you to guy it out!) and withstanding windy conditions.
There is NOT any reflective ANYTHING on this tent (green version). Again you have to go and purchase reflective tape/cord yourself. Advertised as a 3 season tent (think poor visibility) and I would have expected to see guy lines and pegs supplied, with the guy lines being made from reflective cord.
NO repair kit supplied.
Now some may say I am nit picking here but I find these couple things very frustrating - especially when this tent is not cheap! No repair kit goes against MSRs philosophy of shipping with the items you need to do field repairs (like they do with their stoves).
At the price point these few cons should be included as standard.

Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
I have been looking for a side-entry, freestanding, not orange/yellow/red, 1p, ~3lbs, backpacking tent for a tallish (6'2") person for months. I kept coming back to the Big Agnes products (Copper Spur, Fly Creek, etc.) for 2 people (to fit me)... and also considered REI (why not make the T1 in "plus?"), and others. Thank god I went into the store a few times [...]I never even would have looked at the Hubba since its stated length is only 86". As it turns out, Big Agnes measures from grommet to grommet, which adds a solid 4" to that measurement, and I also hadn't considered how some tent (mostly dome tents) slant inward more than others from the floor. The Hubba has these little expansion bars on the ends of the main poles, and the wall of the tent goes almost straight up from the floor. That means less touching of the bag (or my head) to the walls. So, to the review... I've only spent 3 nights in this thing, so take this for what it's worth... but I loved it. AMAZINGLY easy to set up, well designed, plenty light, PLENTY of head room, the thing is green... which I like, stood up to some wind, minimal condensation (though have not been in it in the rain yet), nice quiet zippers and a big door to get in and out of... all great qualities. The vestibule is not huge, but I could definitely get my gear / hang out under there in a pinch, and I like how it can be set up to "face" either direction. At my height with a full pad (that is another story), it's definitely snug... but I fit, can roll over, have a pocket for my flashlight by my head, and can sit up. That's all I ask. The interior of this one is all net except for a little "tub", so assuming condensation won't be too bad. A couple little cons... I still would love a long version, or just a tent like this that has another 2 inches or so on it. Reflective lines would have been nice (though I like being stealth I guess), and the poles break down in an awkward (long) way to pack. Overall... though results are early, this tent it looking good as my backpacking tent for many years. Stoked.

Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
Over time I have changed to a semi minimalist backpacker but have a difficult time finding freeze dried cajun food.
This is one of the most satisfying tents I've owned.

Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
Used this tent for 10 days in New Mexico, everthing from heat, hail, wind and rain, the tent performed outstanding. At 6'3" 230lbs, I had plenty of room (for a one person tent that is). The only reason I did not score it a 5 of 5, is (after using it for 2 years), the underside of the fly became "tacky" to the touch and unusable, but MSR sent a replacement fly no charge.

Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
The Hubba is a great tent only made better by the new color. I use this tent for backpacking and love how easy it is to set up. This style of tent with the side vestibule makes it not seem as cramped inside as an end vestibule tent.

Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
This new green version looks great! The first time I set it up (in my living room), it took me about 15 minutes to figure out the pole configuration. Now, 2-3 minutes out of the pack and it's done. Very light, durable material. I just wish that MSR had the vestibule extension in orange. Without it, it's a little tricky trying to figure out how to make everything fit underneath as there isn't a heck of a lot of room. But, it's a 3-pound tent so I guess you can't expect a foyer and a walk-in closet. Still, I've used this tent MANY times from backpacking to festivals and it's always served me well!

Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
Good, solid tent. Worth buying if you can find it on sale. Had ample room for myself and clothes/top cover for my pack at the foot. Great to carry in a pack, and easy to set up. The small footprint makes the most of small campsites. The tent held up to steady rain all night long. It collected enough condensation to make outside of my sleeping bag damp in the morning, but to be fair - I spent the better part of the night in steady rain and/or a cloud, so I expected that.
Two small suggestions for improvement: 1) The bag holds 6 stakes, but there are 7 logical stake out places, and; 2) The fly design could be improved with the addition of guy-out attachments on the side of the tent to create more space/improve ventilation.
Overall, very pleased with the tent.

Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
Great complement to my eno hammock when there are no trees. Is it worth the money?..... I own the footprint as well?......I don't quite know yet. I've used it with the tent and with just the footprint and fly, you save weight and space but are now susceptible to bugs. I'm a tree trunk so I'm 5'7 175 fairly decent shape, wide shoulders and its a tight squeeze:) Perfect for me but I feel sorry for any big fella! Great for solo women.
