Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
Look, its a great tent but I'm 6ft and have a 48 inch chest. The wind blew 50mph and the tent was sturdy, i recomend getting additinal tent stake dedicated for the fly also, the fly was loose and flapped a bit using the mini grounhog stakes that were at the bottom of the tent.

Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
A good all-around tent for backpacking. It's a great balance of lightweight, small, and affordable. I used this on my 2012 AT thru-hike and it served me well. After about five months there was one crack in the poles, but hey, that's like 150 straight days of using this tent, so that kind of wear is bound to happen. On condensation: some people complain that this tent collects a lot of condensation. True, but leave the fly open a little, and you get no condensation. Also, buy the footprint while you're at it.

Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
I have an older version of this tent(different color) and I love it. It is roomy for a 1p tent, and gives you plenty of room to sit up and get dressed when it is cold outside. the vestibule is huge, and keeps all of your gear dry. This tent sets up in under 2 minutes, is free standing, and the rainfly goes on in about 2 minutes(including staking it out).

Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
Well, quick bit about this tent. Used it for a two nighter in Southern Oregon in the rain and sleet. Stayed dry inside, except what drops feel in from the top as I climbed in and out. No problem with setting it up in the rain, dried up before sleepy time. Comfortable, roomy, nice zippers, great stakes. No footprint/ repair kit included; I went with a Tyvek footprint and was pleased. A bit breezy inside but a nice bag in 30F works well, for those of you who sleep hot this is a nice perk.
People I was with were fairly impressed, while their tents tumbled in the wind, this was taunt and dry... dare I say sexy?
Read a couple more comments and buy it- Oregon tested,

Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
As a Peace Corps Volunteer in Swaziland, Africa, I was constantly on the go. From camping at the local backpackers to hiking trips in the mountains I needed something that was light, easy to carry, and durable. Then, following my 2 years in Swaziland I backpacked across Southern and Eastern Africa for 5 months, camping on a variety of terrain from the bush to the desert. This tent was everything I needed and more. And the best part is that it's still going strong.
The only cons are that it is incredibly small and it seems to collect condensation. I am a small woman, 5'2" and I fit perfectly with a small bag at my feet. Anything larger and I am forced to curl up. When my male friends borrowed the tent, they had a slightly harder time using it and they often had to leave their belongings outside of the tent.
All in all, this was the best and most practical item I traveled with and I'd recommend it to anyone going on a solo adventure.

Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
Great lightweight but roomier alternative to a bivy sack. Can be used as an ultralight w/ no tent body and just the footprint and fly. Enough room in vestibule for a full pack

Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
I purchased my Hubba in 2004, when it was still orange. I only wish I could have the green one! But, that has nothing to do with its amazing performance. I spent 4 months backpacking in New Zealand, in this tent. It was my home during that time, and it proved to be a great tent. It kept me dry during perhaps the worst storm I've ever been in, while in Wellington: rain, standing water, and incredible winds. I was dry, and the tent did not collapse. In four months, I experienced just about every weather condition, except snow. It never failed. It was worth every penny I spent on it. Yes, it's more expensive than other tents, but you get what you pay for. I would not want to travel with a different tent, now that I've had this one.

Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
After six back-country trips, I'm yet to have any regrets with the performance of the Hubba. I'm 6'3" and 175lbs and sleep and sit comfortably. The vestibule is just large enough for my pack and shoes; I'd prefer that it reach another couples to the ground, but as is it still kept my gear dry through tropical wind and rain.
A doubled-over Space Blanket makes a near perfect substitute for the foot print; length-wise it's only a couple inches shorter than the tent.

Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
I won't get to take my new little tent on a camping trip for another 3 weeks, but as soon as it arrived I set it up in the back yard to see if I liked it. So far it looks like it will (more than) meet my expectations.
It's the right color, right height, right weight. Set-up, even for the first time, took about 3 minutes. So, though I haven't yet slept in it, I do believe it's going to be the right tent for this minimalist backpacker.
I am a bit bemused, however, that there were no waterproofing instructions with the tent, though I expect they're the standard. Still, that could be really helpful information, particularly for folks who might be new to camping, and I'd like to see REI deal with that. When I call them later today (about something else, unrelated), I'll mention that.
This little baby may deserve 5 stars - I don't know yet - but I'll give it 4 for now, and assume that it will be exactly what I hoped for. (I'll be sure to offer another review if it doesn't.)
Happy camping...

Comments about MSR Hubba 1P Tent:
Good, solid tent. Worth buying if you can find it on sale. Had ample room for myself and clothes/top cover for my pack at the foot. Great to carry in a pack, and easy to set up. The small footprint makes the most of small campsites. The tent held up to steady rain all night long. It collected enough condensation to make outside of my sleeping bag damp in the morning, but to be fair - I spent the better part of the night in steady rain and/or a cloud, so I expected that.
Two small suggestions for improvement: 1) The bag holds 6 stakes, but there are 7 logical stake out places, and; 2) The fly design could be improved with the addition of guy-out attachments on the side of the tent to create more space/improve ventilation.
Overall, very pleased with the tent.
