Comments about Marmot Limestone 6P Tent:
While it is easy to set up, putting on the fly alone is moderately challenging, especially in the wind. I have used it twice, the first time in heavy wind and the second time in heavy rain, cold and wind. We were comfortable both times. We experience a slight amount of seepage from the bottom after a second round of heavy rains but considering the conditions, it held up great.
I like the storage netting and the ability to stand ALL the way up (I am 6'1") toward the middle of the tent. The two doors are nice. Our first use, we ended up using the "back" door as the front door.
We slept 2 adults and 2 children comfortably with all of our personal gear and had no problems.

Comments about Marmot Limestone 6P Tent:
I purchased this tent for my family of four to use while car camping in the mountains of Colorado. We generally prefer walk in tent sites. I have owned several less expensive tents over the years and was tired of dealing with leaks and broken poles so decided to upgrade. After reading many reviews and speaking to REI employees I chose the Marmot Limestone 6. I have used it on four weekend camping trips so far and couldn't be happier with my choice. The tent is extremely easy to set up. It can be done solo but with two people can be done in about 5 minutes. The rainfly is much more difficult alone but no problem with two. The poles seem to be very sturdy. Although the tent is designed for six people it would be very crowded with that many. We have two adults and two young kids and by the time we have air mattresses, sleeping bags and duffels inside it seems pretty full. The two vestibules offer additional storage but I wouldn't keep anything out there you didn't want to get a little wet. We have experienced several heavy rains and one occasion of strong winds and the tent did fantastic. Not a drop of water inside and it held up very well in the wind but I did tie it down with extra guy wire. The only two negatives I can think to report are the storage bag is on the small side and makes it difficult to fit everything back in when packing up. Also, It gets hot in the tent on sunny days with the rainfly on but without it there is no privacy for changing clothes etc. It would be nice to have some roll down window covers inside for those occasions. Other than that the tent is perfect and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a family friendly car camping tent.

Comments about Marmot Limestone 6P Tent:
I recommend watching the online set-up video first although we didn't. It was still very easy to set-up the first time. Break-down was also easy. We read most of the reviews on this tent and found it to be everything we expected. We even recommended it to a fellow shopper who had not read any of the reviews and has considerably less camping/hiking skills than we do. We're certain his family will enjoy this tent and will not be overwhelmed with using it. Wish Marmot offered a larger storage bag than the one provided. Once the footprint is added, the bag is quite snug. All in all, we will certainly look at additional Marmot tents should we need another size in the future.

Comments about Marmot Limestone 6P Tent:
The quality of this tent and the materials that go into it are excellent. The heavy duty floor and heavy duty aluminum poles are things you don't normally see in tents these days.
First time set-up took about 15 minutes from start to stake, by myself - very simple. I spent three nights in this tent over the Memorial Day weekend. During two of these nights, I was subjected to some of the worst wind I had ever experienced in Colorado. The tent shook but never collapsed once. Not even a wimper. Two of the tents in the campsite above me didn't fair so well. There was no rain but based upon its performance in the wind, I'd wager it would do fine in even the heaviest downpour. The rain fly vestibules over both doors are a nice touch.
A couple of minor peeves: The tent comes in a traditional stuff sack. I folded the tent ten ways from Sunday on a calm day in my back yard and still couldn't get it all to fit back into the stuff sack. Apparently, you have to be a parachute rigger. Also, even though the rain fly has eight guy points, only four guy lines are supplied with the tent. At this price point and size, Marmot really could have gone with a back pack/suit case style carry bag and four additional guy lines. I purchased a large, inexpensive duffel to store the tent.

Comments about Marmot Limestone 6P Tent:
After 25 years with our 3-man NorthFace bullfrog my wife and I gave ourselves the Marmott Limestone 6P. Watched video, easy to set up. Used first time at Whitney Portal Memorial weekend. Below freezing first two nights and windy. Solved problem by dropping down upwind rainfly/vestibule to keep wind from coming in door and windows. Loved being able to stand up inside and the two doors. This should be the last tent we ever buy! norm & kathy huefner

Comments about Marmot Limestone 6P Tent:
We first purchased this tent towards the end of last camping season looking for more room for gear and a dog. We ended up returning the tent due to a tear in the rain fly after it's first outing. We replaced it with the exact same tent and took it out for the first time this past Memorial Day. On the second day of our four day trip the tent started caving in and twisting from the wind. End result: 4 out of 4 poles were completely bent and unusable (we had to stay in a friend's camper for the remainder of the trip). This tent is very roomy, and goes up quite nicely, it does well in the rain but can't hold it's own in the wind. After owning two of these and returning them both I am very disappointed with the quality and sturdiness of this tent, especially for the money.
Thank you REI for keeping true to your word "100% Satisfaction Guarantee", it really made me at ease when I saw my tent collapsing.

Comments about Marmot Limestone 6P Tent:
After reviewing tensts to upgrade our family camping adventures, I settled on the Marmott Limestone 6P. When running a test setup I noticed a seam at a pole connection point pulling. Upon inspection it appeared that the seam was missed in the manufacturing process. (see photo). I returned the tent to REI, and had it replaced by an identical model. During test setup I noticed the same issue. I decided to run with the Marmott anyway based on the positive reviews.
Our first (and last) advendure with the tent was a few nights at City of Rocks in New Mexico. The wind picked up and to its credit the tent withstood the 25MPH sustained wind and 35+ MPH gusts admirably. What was a problem was that the zippers on both vestibules of the fly jammed after the first pull. Due to the high leves of sand in the wind this made for a very uncomfortable and frustrating experience. One vestibule rendered completely useless, the other partially open the whole time.
Thanks to REI for the ease of return of the tent. Now trying the REI Basecamp 6... after test set up there are no pulled seams so that's a good start.

Comments about Marmot Limestone 6P Tent:
We bought this tent after lots of online research and after realizing the rain fly on a similar REI brand tent didn't extend all the way down on both sides.
This Marmot tent is super easy to put up - takes about about two minutes -- and I can do it myself and I'm 5'2", although it's nice to have two people to put up the rain fly, but not totally necessary.
We haven't been in torrential rain with it yet but in a regular rain shower it was fine.
I like that it has a screen roof so you have a nice view at night if you don't need the rain fly.

Comments about Marmot Limestone 6P Tent:
This a a great tent for a great price. I needed a large tent for a week of Boy Scout summer camp that had good ventilation and headroom. This tent did just the trick. My son and I set up cots and foot lockers in it and still had plenty of room to stand up and move around. Screens on the sides and top help out with air circulation when the rain fly was removed but with it on and closed up the two vents on either side werent enough to keep us cool in the South Carolina heat. I'm impressed with the quality of this tent and the front porch is a nice addition to help keep the dirt out of the inside. It has lots of hooks on the ceiling and pockets along the sides to store your stuff. I would like to see a slightly bigger stuff bag to store it in, it's a bit tough to get it rolled tight enough to slide it in.
