Comments about The North Face Verto Jacket - Men's:
This jacket does exactly what it's supposed to do: be extremely light yet fully functional and useful. The jacket is as thin as onion-skin, and feels delicate, yet it's tough and actually retains some heat, blocks some wind, and sheds water. It will warm you up if you put it on. It packs down easily into the chest pocket, measuring 4*4.5*2 inches. I like the quality of the construction and the obvious planning and design that have gone into the articulated sleeves and athletic cut. The fabric itself (Pertex Quantum) is impressive (check out their website). This is a perfect jacket for those in-between days, when you're not sure about the weather, when the clouds threaten rain, but you want to get outside anyway. If a full Gore-Tex shell is like heavy armor, the Verto jacket is like light chain-mail. It's a high-tech poncho that you'll actually want to wear.

Comments about The North Face Verto Jacket - Men's:
I just got this jacket and immediately tested it by hopping on my Vespa and racing around town, I wore a t-shirt, long sleeve shirt, and this jacket, and rode around in 50 F. Temps for 30 minutes and the only thing that got cold was my face. I'll be hiking in two weeks so i'll come back and update my review then. Until then, this stylish jacket works well and is SUPER light.

Comments about The North Face Verto Jacket - Men's:
Took it first time out to Mt San Gorgonio on 4/1/12. Used it most of the day to test it out. At first I only had on a capalene 2 thermal. I then put on the verto over the thermal as the wind picked up and temp came down with elevation gain. I was surprised that I didnt collect sweat wearing the verto. It blocked the wind and retained my body heat very well. I had temp control by use of the zipper and had no sweat issues. Excelent sweat evaporation. For lunch at 10400 ft I put on my Spruce Run jacket on top for extra warmth since we were idle for about an hour while cooking and eating/resting. I did develop a tear on the right arm by brushing my snow shoes taking off the pack. I tore it alittle more to see how easy it would be to continue the tear. Very very easy to make the tear worse. I applied a strip of olive drab duct tape to the tear like you would a bandaid. Field repair worked great. Be very careful around sharp objects strapped to your pack as its easy to forget that you are wearing the Verto. I bought it for unforcast weather and an emergency backup or a pure summit jacket. Like it says, weighs alomost nothing and is truely equal in size of a Pro Bar at most. Worth having in your equipment.

Comments about The North Face Verto Jacket - Men's:
Lightweight functional jacket that you can put anywhere and seems very durable. My only negative is it seems a bit pricey for what you get... Love the jacket though and put it on anytime its raining.
