After too many years , I gave up my Giro Pneumo and got a new Giro Atmos - What a difference ! Much more comfortable and the way the helmet sits on my head it creates a much lower profile that the Pneumo .
It's super comfortable and fits securely . I have NO problem with the padding . I'm so glad I upgraded .

I have owned this helmet for several seasons. I recently purchased this for my boyfriend who after a near fatal event realized a helmet would be a good thing. This helmet fits perfect! For anyone with a fear of a dorky, bulky helmet, reach for the Atmos! I often forget I'm wearing it (I get a lot of weird looks in public places when I walk around with a helmet on my head).
I ride year round, rain, snow, hail, wind, heat! Love this helmet!!!

This helmet saved my life, no question I would be dead. This is direct impact with the road at 52 mph, coming down the fastest section of Independence Pass in Aspen (no joke; witnesses saw me hit directly on my right-side forehead in the first bounce). Comparing the damaged side with the other clean side, the foam compressed about 60-70% before the entire shell failed. I've been wearing Giro helmets for at least 15 years and am now shopping for a new one. My take on the 3 high-end Giro's as of sept 2011: it's worth mentioning that the Aeon is substantially thicker at the front and a bit thicker at the forehead sides, so I assume it would take even MORE compression before it would collapse. Looks larger and a little more mushroom head effect because of the added material - but its also a bit lighter. The Prolight is sized very differently; a medium Prolight fits tighter than a SMALL in any of their other models. All of them are great, but for me I'm getting another Atmos because it has much better venting than a Prolight and is noticeably smaller, more compact profile than the new Aeon.

I have always, always hated bike helmets. I wore one only when it was required for a competition or group ride. If I was just kicking around on my bike, I never put one on.

When I started bike commuting (along a fairly well travelled road at noon and well after dark) I figured it was time to bite the bullet and get a new helmet that I could stomach wearing daily.

This is it. The helmet is very lightweight and ventilates extremely well. It fits like a glove, and I actually completely forget I'm wearing it, which is saying something.

It's a bit pricey for the casual cyclist, but I got it on sale and didn't want to go cheaper and end up with a helmet I wouldn't wear at all (which would be a REAL waste of money!). I think this product is well worth the full price.

It's even kind of cute!

I upgraded from Giro Saros when I found Atmos on sale. In my first ride, I almost forgot I had a helmet on - it is much lighter and easier to adjust than the Saros. Good ventilation as well. The only thing I noticed is that the sizing is a bit off. I am normally a medium with minimum dial-in adjustment needed, however, I need to tighten up much on a medium Atmos. Not sure if I have an odd one or Atmos does run large, just be careful when you order.

Last, I had a bike crash with Atmos on, it def protected me from serious head injury. Even better - my helmet only have a few scratches, no cracks at all.

I have been riding with an Atmos helmet for a year and a half; this is the best helmet I have owner so far. It is very light, great air flow and it fits my head perfectly. I recently had a serious crash where I landed on my head and shoulder; this helmet saved my life. The helmet was totaled but I walked (limping) away. I replaced my broken helmet with another Atmos. Enough said.

This helmet has no padding in the top of the helmet. At the end of 2010 I purchased a Bell helmet, and this year our cycling club got a good deal on the Atmos by Giro. The Atmos hurt the top of my head right away. I compared the two helmets and noticed no padding on the top on the Atmos where the Bell helmet had padding.
