Comments about Asolo Pumori GV Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
In my job, I spend a great deal of time hiking and climbing. I have used my boots for three seasons and they are still going strong. Although they may seem a bit heavy for some people, I like the stability, ankle support and super grip on rocks. These boots are at the top end, price wise, but I think over time are well worth the extra bucks. For all the miles I have put on them, they still are going great and looking good.

Comments about Asolo Pumori GV Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
I used this boot for winter mixed routes on rock, snow and a little ice and it performed well out of the box. The vibram sole is super grippy like an alpine boot should be. The weight is fine, probably a little on the lighter side as far as alpine boots go. The ankle height is above the ankle. It has a stiff sole, but flexible ankle. In fact there is a soft section at the flex spot/joint which allows for extra flex forward while stepping. For mountaineering ankle support, I'd rate these boots a 7. They are not super supportive like a plastic boot or heavy mountaineering boot. But they will allow you to position your feet and move up mixed terrain. They will break in very nicely like any Asolo boot will. These boots are hybrid crampon compatible (rear clip only strap up front) yet narrow enough to fit into a a traditional strap-on crampon. There is not much insulation on these boots. I'd rate them a good spring or mild weather boot (10F - 65F). But they are completely waterproof. I tested them in slush, rain and streams. Wear neoprene socks over your wools if you need extra warmth for winter climbs or get an insulated boot.

Comments about Asolo Pumori GV Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
They recommended superfeet which probably helped so have to mention these did not have stock insoles. Did 4000 feet steep vertical gain the first day with these through mixed terrain of mud, slippery roots and rocks into mixed packed snow and ice covered packed snow. These are comfortable enough to hike in since the tops are softer and forgiving than some, they don't feel like a ski boot. You can crampon up and tighten laces a little and go toe in on steep snow/ice. I'd have to say almost no break in, no blisters. I like these as much as the Asolo leather hikers but for different reasons.
