      let me just say, this is the first jump rope i've ever purchased. i'm trying to get back in shape, and jumping rope seemed like a fun way to do so. and it probably is with a proper jump rope.BUYER BEWARE.this thing does not include the extra rope clamps which are supposedly included. so once you cut the ends off the rope to adjust the length, there's no longer anything to prevent the rope from coming out of the handles. spent a while trying to find something to do the job and finally ended up rolling up and pliering the ish out of a paperclip on one end, and zip-tying the other. this resulted in awful clicking noises while jumping.but it worked....for four sessions. eventually, of course, my makeshift clips slid off--twice--and i gave up. i'll be purchasing another jump rope from elsewhere, since this piece of ish is the only one REI carries.also, if you do decide to NOT take my word, unless you want your entire house smelling like the garden section of [@], leave this piece of ish outside. because, and this is no exaggeration here, after 20 minutes, my entire house smells uncannily of that section of the store.UNCANNILY.
