The Columbia Silver Ridge™ II convertible pants, with 34 in. inseam, give you convenient 2-in-1 function that saves weight and space, making them perfect for backpacking and extended travel.

Nylon fabric offers long-lasting wear; Omni-Wick™ fabric treatment pulls moisture off your skin to increase comfort
With a UPF 30 rating, fabric provides very good protection against harmful ultraviolet rays
Pant legs zip off, converting the pants to shorts with a 10 in. inseam in warm weather; zip the legs back on for increased coverage and greater warmth

These are dual use pants for me. For hikes they are very light weight and dry quickly. Also being able to switch to shorts when needed is an added bonus. I also take several pairs with me when I go to work in the oil industry in the Gulf of Mexico. Granted I am in a mostly office environment while working but they give me great flexability when I need to do physical work. The only negative I have seen is that after about two months at work some seams are starting to frey. But daily 12hr use is a little beyond normal so I suppose thats to be expected. These have been good to me and I will get more when they wear out.

It's nice to find a pair of outdoor pants that fit a tall man. I'm 6'3" and these fit me well. The material is light, comfortable, and dries quickly, but feels sturdy enough to handle any abuse.
