Comments about Marmot PreCip Rain Jacket - Men's Extended Sizes:

This jacket never seemed very breathble to me, I typically was damp when wearing it even in dry weather. The first few outings I would say that it was water resistant, but I always assumed that I was sweating in it, but now I believe that it is just plain not waterproof. I was fishing on a dry day that turned into a torrential shower, it was literally like in the movie when Fred Astaire was dancing- in the rain. My 3 layers underneath were soaked after about an hour and a half- fleece and all. There was actually water running down the inside of the jacket when I removed it- under cover, out of the rain. I know I wasn't exerting enough energy to sweat that day, not that much. I give it 2 stars because, after all, it is a jacket, it's black, it's packable, it's comfortable and I didn't pay full price for it. I would never pay full price for it. If so, I would defiitely be using the REI return policy. I wouldn't recommend this to a friend because I don't believe it is waterproof. As a windbreaker? Yeah, it works. Water resistant, maybe. But waterproof is waterproof, and as advertised- this is not.

Service and delivery comments:

As far as delivery is concerned, I typically ship to the store, unless there is a free shipping deal. It arrived, somewhere, on time, as far as I know. Didn't use customer service and have not returned it because- it a jacket. I'll use it- just not in the rain. I'm sure if I walked into the store today, they would credit the discounted price I payed for it. In a second.
