Comments about EDELWEISS Energy ARC Bi-Pattern 9.5mm x 60m Everdry Rope:
Really enjoy this rope. Havn't used it too much but so far so good! I bought a rope last year and the sheath on it was terrible! This rope is holding up way better!

Comments about EDELWEISS Energy ARC Bi-Pattern 9.5mm x 60m Everdry Rope:
I used the rope for about 8 mounts of weekend climbing mix of trad and sport.
It recently got a core shot 5 meters from one end for no apparent reason. Looking at the core shot it is apparent the sheath is very thin and the rope will not be very durable.

Comments about EDELWEISS Energy ARC Bi-Pattern 9.5mm x 60m Everdry Rope:
OK including this rope I've owned 4 Edelwise ropes before. I'm a die hard loyalist to the company. The others I used and abused since 1995 and they all stood up and fuzzed just a little after years. I decided to retire them and get this line in the 80 Meter length. That was mistake #1 because when I took it out of the bag, I noticed that the sheeth had imperfections where the folks in [*] had spliced a new thread into the sheeth. I didn't give it another thought because they know what they are doing right? Well after about 4 days of climbing those little splices came free and started waving like a flag. I think/hope this is 100% cosmetic.I've used this line for ice climbing, sport climbing, and trad climbing and was pleased with how smooth it is. Never kinked. It was silky feeling and the knots tied and untied super nice. One draw back is the width. This is the fault of the consumer by the way. When belaying with a regular GriGri and ATC, it zippes through too easy. Well the GriGri and many other devices aren't designed to handle this thin of a line. (BE WARNED GET THE RIGHT BELAY DEVICE TOO!)Lastly after one season of climbing, (maybe 20-30 trips) this rope suffered a core shot at the City of Rocks, on Bath Rock, Colossus 5.10c, moving through the crux and fell. It wasn't that sharp of an edge, but it was enough to expose the white core. This is odd because one other Edelwise rope I had was rated for edge falls. It lasted FOREVER! Maybe in their efforts to keep up with the Jones' they changed their sheeth abrasion resistances. Maybe I got a defective product? I'm glad I got it at REI, because I'm taking it back today.Would I recomend this rope? YOU BET! If you are a sporty, indoor climber, looking to shave weight, this is it! BUT this rope couldn't handle one big wall trip. Just too much abuse.

Comments about EDELWEISS Energy ARC Bi-Pattern 9.5mm x 60m Everdry Rope:
I purchased this rope to do some outdoor sport climbs at my local crags, I was a bit standoffish at first due to the small size "9.5" but after reviewing many ropes and comparing the fall ratings, static and dynamic elongation, and prices I ended up here. It was nice that it came with a rope bag but that had no say in the reason for purchase. the rope bag was cheep and tore easily after a couple uses but it was a nice gesture. The rope on the other hand was amazing had great feel, low friction "consider gloves this rope will run fast through your belay device or while abseiling", knots tie and untie easily, and doesnt kink easily, also the bi color pattern is awesome! Everyone whos seen it and used it loves it. great buy!
