Comments about The North Face Snow Leopard Sleeping Bag - Women's:
My boyfriend and I bought the Snow Leopard pair of sleeping bags. We were looking for backpacking bags that would zip together. We used these bags a few times for backpacking, and were satisfied with the warmth and comfort of the bags, even zipped together, which makes them a little colder. We were comfortable sleeping in an snow cave when it was about 30 degrees out. However, we simply found them unusable in the end because they were so difficult to pack down into a reasonable size. The compression sacks they come with are an awkward size and shape for fitting into a hiking backpack, and the sleeping bags themselves are just too bulky to pack down well. We returned them and bought a pair of Sierra Design DriDown bags instead, which pack down into about a half or even a third the size, even though their advertised volume is larger. We also found that the zippers caught very easily, which is annoying but not unusual. These bags would be great for car camping, but I would not recommend them for backpacking.

Comments about The North Face Snow Leopard Sleeping Bag - Women's:
First used the Leopard on an October trip to Glacier National Park and I could have been sleeping in a cozy cabin with a fireplace roaring for all I knew...except that I was in a tent, on Lake McDonald, in the sleet. The trip continued north to Canada and even though it snowed, I would still choose to sleep in this bag rather than the Prince Edward Hotel. I coupled it with an insulated pad and a standard REI inflatable camp pad. True, it doesn't pack down but I squish it into a sea to summit H20-proof sack and strap it to the back of my Gregory Deva pack because I can hike harder if I sleep harder. It's not just the warmth with this bag, it's the loft of it that makes it a cozy bag. I've had it now for two years and it's still going strong. I'm 5'5'', 125 lbs and it's a good fit for me. I did test drive it at an REI before taking the $$ plunge.

Comments about The North Face Snow Leopard Sleeping Bag - Women's:
I spent the summer living out of a 15-passenger van, and so I wanted to buy a sleeping bag that was extra cozy (van seats, not so much). It is ALWAYS a good idea to invest in one's sleeping materials. However, since I am also an avid snowboarder, I was hoping to find a bag that could handle any outdoor winter excursions I might embark upon. Enter Snow Leopard.
This sleeping bag was so comfy every single time I crawled into it at the end of the night! Not only was it cozy, but it really worked in every condition I encountered. 95 degree nights in Houston? No problem! Just unzip and cover. 33 degree nights in Yellowstone? No trouble at all! (granted, the van may have helped.)
I could go on and on about the snow leopard. It just freakin rocks. Believe me. I wouldn't have wanted to spend my summer in any other bag. I am now anxiously planning an outing in the snow soon, so the Snow Leopard will be coming out again soon.
The zipper does tend to snag from time to time, but then again, so has every zipper on every sleeping bag since their inception.

Comments about The North Face Snow Leopard Sleeping Bag - Women's:
This is the warmest and most comfortable sleeping bag that I have ever owned or slept in! I love the colors, the size and the warmth. On the downfall...it doesn't pack down to a reasonable backpacking size. It takes up a lot of space. Perfect if you are car camping though!

Comments about The North Face Snow Leopard Sleeping Bag - Women's:
I just got back from hiking the Art Loeb in NC up in the mountains, and this bag kept me surprisingly warm. I tend to be a cold sleeper. The last night we camped it started snowing and the temps plummeted into the teens. The wind was blowing 30 to 40 miles an hour so the windchill was fierce.
This bag was not only warm but super squashy and comfy. I'm 5'2" and have the regular length. It's a touch wide for me, but I just stuffed my clothes for the next day inside, along with a nalgene. Once I cinched the hood down there were no drafts or cold spots. I could sleep comfortably on my back, stomach, and side. When I woke up the next morning the condensation on the outside of my bag had frozen, but by the time I was putting it away it had dried. No moisture inside, either.
I have two complaints about this bag. The first is it packs large. Like really large. The stuff sack it comes with is completely worthless. It only compresses in 3 directions. I couldn't fit it into the sleeping bag compartment of my pack (a Gregory Deva 70). I'm definitely going to bring my bag and pack into an REI and get a new stuff sack. The other very minor thing is the stash pocket is tiny. Itsy bitsy teeny tiny. I can fit either my glasses OR my head lamp, not both.
