The North Face Momentum Fleece Jacket - Men's
The North Face Momentum jacket is designed for aerobic use in crisp weather. This breathable, full-zip jacket fosters unrestricted movement thanks to its stretchy fabric makeup.
- Made from TKA Superstretch fabric, the Momentum has a smooth, non-pilling outer face, a warm fleecy inner face and comfortable 4-way stretch
- Repels light moisture and dries quickly when wet
- Features full-front zipper with an inside windflap that doubles as a chin guard; tall collar keeps neck warm
- Elastic-bound flexible cuffs
- Zip hand and chest pockets
- With its performance fit, the Momentum jacket is thermally efficient and layers exceptionally well

I bought a Momentum jacket about 5 years ago and just bought another one a month ago. The older one seems to have a better zipper - heavier and less likely to "run". The new jacket has a coil type zipper and I am skeptical that it will hold up as long, but time will tell.
In the old, I wear a medium. Nice snug fit. In the new, I bought a medium and it was way too large in the chest and neck. So, returned it and bought a small which fits like the old medium.
The materials and construction seem to be top-notch as you would expect from TNF.

This is my third North Face jacket and is probably my favorite. The jacket is super light but yet just enough to wear to keep you warm enough during 40-60 degree weather. I live in Chicago and the temperature and weather is always changing. That's why this jacket is my go to jacket unless its raining or below 40 degrees. I also took this jacket on a three day backpacking trip to northern Michigan in November. I took it as my top layer to wear and the temps were in the 40's during the day and about 30 at night. Again kept me warm enough with my layers but yet light enough to carry as an additional layer if needed.

How can this only have 3 reviews so far? It is AMAZING. This is coming from someone who has constant buyers remorse about everything. Not this. I have climbed 8 Colorado 14ers and countless other peaks with just this and my hiking base layer. I have gone biking, skiing, bouldering, to work and it still looks and feels perfect after a year of heavy abuse and laundering pretty much every week. It is light but very warm and when you are moving feels pretty much windproof. The pockets zip which is great, the collar is the perfect hight, and again, it's bombproof. My only complaint is a sort of dumb one, the neck now smells like a mix between sweat and suntan lotion, and it won't come out. But that's pretty much it. And if you've heard "fleece is dead" this jacket proves it isn't. But it's not really fleece, the outside is smooth and the inside is very flat as well, I doubt I'll ever have a problem with pilling on the inside. But the slick outer sheds water better than traditional fleece and will not get hung up on rocks and branches.

I wear my North Face Momentum fleece jacket every single day, whether or not I'm hiking. It works great around the workplace to help moderate overly cool office spaces, but is still light and comfortable.
It's heavy enough to go for a brisk walk in temperatures down to about 50, but light and breathable enough that you can wear it in temps up to about 80 (at a normal pace).
It has an athletic fit, so it's more easily layered under jackets (even heavy ones) without any loss of mobility (or feelings of constriction).
This jacket really is a good, all-around, fleece jacket. I highly recommend it.

This would be a great light jacket to wear during mild temps (40-50). It's not windproof but it does keep me warm in cold classrooms or when i'm fishing on a calm day. I have complete mobility and the cuffs fit nicely over my wrists. It looks great too. I'm 6'2 and skinney and the large fits nicely. It seems to be fairly snag-proof.

This is a great jacket. I wear it to work, wear it at work when its cool and the ac is blasting, wear it out its lightweight and can fold up into a tiny ball, great quality stretches. Sometimes I have late soccer games and have had to wear this as a layer under my jersey and it works great.
not rainproof. it will soak up rain, sweat, and it will keep you warm, not dry but warm
